DC Comics Best Covers of the Week 9/28/16

Cover Girl! Put the Bass in Your Walk

Another Wednesday is done, and that means it's time to assess the week's comic book covers and assign them arbitrary values. In the post-apocalyptic future, comic book covers will be the only form of accepted currency, so be sure to hoard them! Throw away the interiors if you lack space, the covers are all that matters. Why do you think publishers accept only the torn covers and not the whole book when accepting returns? They're no idiots! They intend on replacing the Federal Reserve after humanity near annihilation.

 Batman Beyond Rebirth #1 variant
Martin Ansin
This cover is just so crazy, looks more like a horror comic than a superhero book.

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #5 variant
Kevin Nowlan
Somehow Guy Gardner looks more authentically Ginger here than usual.

Deathstroke #3
Aco
I love a cover like this that tells a complete story in one picture. Or at least implies a story.

Suicide Squad #3 variant
Lee Bermejo
Though this scene doesn't happen in the pages of the book, it is too great to pass up.

Titans #3 variant
Mike Choi
Alex Ross? Paging Alex Ross? And I mean that as a  compliment. Great composition, there are other similar covers stretching back to the Golden Age, but this looks more sinister because the villain is in shadow.

  1. Idk if I'd say best but that Batman Beyond cover definitely made me say "what the fuck?"

  2. haha the Batman Beyond cover looks like the hero parodies in HITMAN comics, in this case, he looks like "Nightfist".

    1. It was a direct rip-off of Leonardo DiVinci, and I do not abide unoriginal works.
