After yet another amazing issue of Tom Taylor's Injustice 2 I am knees deep in the hype I have for where this comic moves forward. After a funny and character driven issue turned to a shock I’m really interested in the direct follow up to some of what we saw previously. Find out just where the story goes and what I think of it after the jump.

We get a cold open of a very topical president elect and outgoing president doing their public meet and greet before they eventually go on to meet Batman in a part of the White House that even they don’t know about. Batman is just that good. It goes on to have Batman introduce the both to his team of “world-changers”.

Tom’s always been pretty great at cold opens and little character moments, but to be honest this one didn’t completely sell me. I get the idea of wanting to paint Batman as this cooler than the president guy, but the exchange and the eventual pay-off just wasn’t quite felt for me. I feel like more could have been done with this train of thought and just wasn’t satisfied with what we got.

From here we cut back and forth a bit as we learn of Tim Kord’s fate and a little more of what Ra’s is up to in taking Kord, and other seemingly very important people. We also jump back under the White House as we get another great character introduction in the form of Steel, but eventually the intro is cut short as the room itself also learns of Ra’s and his current plan.

Without giving too much away, while this issue started off a little down for me between another great character introduction and an impactful ending the issue did a lot to win me back. I find myself continuing to look past small downfalls for what equates to amazing character and emotional developments.

Bits and Pieces:

While having a rocky and ‘too cute’ of a start the issue quickly won me back with great character introductions and impactful moments.

  1. Kord took it like a champ. Makes me wish that we had this sorta ted in main continuity, because I'd definitely start buying a blue beetle book written by Tom Taylor any day of the week. Either that or let him give us the Justice League or JLA books we deserve after putting up with all the garbage we've have to read this year.
Ditch the Hitch, Embrace the Taylor.

    1. I'd give a lot of money to see more of this Kord, Jaime and Booster from Taylor.

    2. Tom Taylor deserves to have a more important book, not saying that this book is not important but if we had Taylor on one of DC best sellers, the rest of DC stable of writers would want to step there game up out of fear of embarrassment.
