*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

I was really thrown off by last issue because where I thought we had ourselves a really solid first twenty five issues of this series, where at times I thought some issues were a little down, Peter J. Tomasi and Patrick Gleason really showed me by making everything tie together into the Black Dawn arc, where Jon finally learned how to fly and we saw our Kent Family moving on to Metropolis.  Then we had a one-shot and then last issue we moved into this arc, where it was some of the most boring stories I ever read, while also shoving American history down your thoat and also letting you know what's wrong with the current state of our country........ spoiler warning, pieces of shit are what's wrong.  Anyway, let's move into this issue so we can end our Fourth of July jaunt and hopefully get back into some proper Superman storytelling with issue #29.  Let's suffer through.

Explain It!:

Alright, I went through all the sites the Kent Family went to see in the previous issue and for this one I refuse to do it so let me just say, they went around and saw stuff in Washington DC, where we learned things about America and the only things that I gleamed from this story besides that I think I'm supposed to try and be a better American after reading this is, Lois Lane's Uncle died in the Vietnam War and that's what inspired her father to join the military and once our Superman family go to Gettysburg, they meet a family that goes there every year to wish their ancestor, who died in flash flood, who's body was never found a happy birthday.  With that, we see our only bit of Superman actually being interesting because after this meeting, he goes out in the middle of the night and finds the body, has the Justice League do DNA testing on it, wraps it in an American flag and puts it on a picnic table outside of the family's room at the lodge they're staying in.

That's all I got for you.  This issue and the last were nonsense.

Bits and Pieces:

That's it for this issue of Superman and it's just more heavy handed nonsense that only wants to give you a history lesson about America instead of being an interesting story.  The art was decent in this issue, but the rest I can seriously do without and hope that we never have to see another Superman arc like this again because it was just too much.

5/10
