The first issue of this series was one of the more different issues Marvel has put out in recent years. Does the second issue manage to continue the story in a satisfying way? Well, True Believer, let's find out!

Banner arrives at a small town. He's enjoying his time alone and accidentally hears of a recent tragedy that befell this town... or rather a series of tragedies. A few people have randomly fallen dead and that green part of Banner's brain wants to find out why.

A major complaint I had about the last issue was the severe lack of narration or perspective from Bruce Banner. I needed to know more about what Banner was thinking, why he was doing what he was doing, and if he felt it was necessary. Here Al Ewing dives much deeper into Banner's perspective and it's incredibly interesting.

There's something about this book that's so incredibly alluring. I've read this issue multiple times simply because I enjoy it so much. The writing is tight, the pencils and layouts are wide and comfortable, and the coloring grounds the entire thing together in the best way. Bennett brings such gravity to every aspect of the story. His Hulk is fantastic, to begin with. I love how massive he is; he has to crouch down to really fit in a wide panel, and we still don't see the entirety of his mass.

Bits and Pieces:

I genuinely feel a bit shell-shocked after reading this book. I'd go so far as to say that this is the best book that Marvel is currently publishing, hands out and without a doubt. If you didn't believe that this is actually a horror book, then this book will truly convince you. Pick this up confidently.
