Rodimus vs. Getaway! Finally!

The showdown we have been waiting for is here, and it doesn’t disappoint.  We begin with the medical team saves the telepaths from the sparkeaters in a technobabble fashion. Scorponok and Rodimus fight while Getaway prognosticates and taunts Rodimus.

Grimlock solves the scraplet problem by throwing his flame sword at it only to have it reform into a dragon and take a liking to Whirl.  Star Saber vs Cyclonus is awesome and too short at the same time.  The Getaway and Rodimus fight is the main event, and it doesn’t disappoint.

They fight in the furnace room which you know means someone's going into the fire.  The fate of Getaway is the best part of this issue and occurs in a weird and unexpected fashion.  The final page shows a Quintessa like a planet and a rip in space… what could that mean?!

I have similar nitpicks with this issue as I did in the last.  The action is truncated in some sections and things are solved in a way that you just have to accept at face value.  However, the Rodimus/Getaway part of the story is paced well and is satisfying. The art is beautiful and Rodimus emerging from the flames is the best panel in a long time.

Bits and Pieces:

Overall, it's been 25 issues since Getaway stole the Lost Light and the journey to get to the conclusion has been interesting and worth it.

8.5/10
