That man really did have a good understanding of the DC characters, his variant covers, like the ones in this article, exemplify that. I consider those covers to be best run of variant cover that DC has had. Check out his Batman cover http://www.time-warp.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Batman.jpgAlex Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07732912381871780947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557726951171561616.post-49607032645250723942016-05-14T20:55:34.227-04:002016-05-14T20:55:34.227-04:00Darwyn Cooke was more than just a comic book write...Darwyn Cooke was more than just a comic book writer and artist; he was a devout fan of the comic book art medium. Sure, he ruffled some feathers in the industry along the way, but I was always impressed with how outspoken he was about the industry as a whole. Controversial though he could be, I always saw him as a man who cared about comic books and comic book heroes and villains. He recognized the format as an incredible opportunity for uniqueness, creativity and epic storytelling; and never hesitated to speak his mind against those who saw fit to try and turn a profit selling overpriced, overproduced picture books of those characters punching, killing and fucking each other. The mere fact that he was around made me and other longtime fans of comics feel like we really had a friend and an ally in the industry. I'm really going to miss him.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12462829367825323334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557726951171561616.post-65638293687237967492016-05-14T19:44:06.293-04:002016-05-14T19:44:06.293-04:00This sad news were a real punch in the gut.
