The issue felt more goofy than dark/ gritty. I guess that's why I gave it a slightly higher score than Eric did. It just seemed so silly, I couldn't be too mad at it.Jaye Rainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12776284983548747508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557726951171561616.post-2548165280494530342017-07-30T11:24:51.641-04:002017-07-30T11:24:51.641-04:00Lol, good point. Maybe she also had something against the bride or groom and felt like this was a good way to ruin their day *and* Diana's. Two birds with one stone, and all that. We recorded our review for this last night and I said that I think that Shea is trying to go a bit darker since she only wrote the DC Superhero Girls before this and is afraid people will judge her harshly. I wish she would have just gone with what she is good at and given us a nice little book with heart.

BTW...this run is ending in September :(Jim Wernerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12307419602315578911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557726951171561616.post-60508764701827126352017-07-29T14:22:56.132-04:002017-07-29T14:22:56.132-04:00I like Steve...the problem is that Shea Fontana wr...I like Steve...the problem is that Shea Fontana wrote these issues when Rucka was up to issue #19 and I'm guessing that he was not sure how the story would end with Steve.Jim Wernerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12307419602315578911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557726951171561616.post-26712330318757059162017-07-29T14:21:58.210-04:002017-07-29T14:21:58.210-04:00best is, after the whole dr. crawford deal, diana ...best is, after the whole dr. crawford deal, diana must have taken Etta to the hospital anyway!!!Jim Wernerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12307419602315578911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557726951171561616.post-16588960892701619552017-07-29T10:39:12.274-04:002017-07-29T10:39:12.274-04:00I liked it.I liked it.DancingMikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09811406797588086329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557726951171561616.post-21788352042021061012017-07-28T12:17:52.220-04:002017-07-28T12:17:52.220-04:00One of my favorite parts was when the doctor goes ...One of my favorite parts was when the doctor goes "It must be nice to have so much HOPE. I still love the art, and don't want it to go away any time soon. As for the story, it felt like something from the Silver Age or maybe even the Golden Age (what with the whole concept of gaining superpowers by injecting yourself with super-blood). Now that Cheetah is out of the picture, I want Diana and Etta to be a couple. I realize I am not going to get that wish, but that is my head-canon.Jaye Rainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12776284983548747508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557726951171561616.post-38466183855820515852017-07-26T13:35:56.270-04:002017-07-26T13:35:56.270-04:00I miss steve trevor. The setup was ...I agree with you on this one, Eric. The setup was hokey and the payoff was poor. Why the hell would Diana take Etta to Dr.Crawford, a character we only recently been introduced to, instead of hospital? Dr.Crawford must be the most charming woman who ever practiced medicine! Why was she dispatched so quickly? This could have been the opportunity to introduce a fun new Wonder Woman villian to a rogue's gallery that desperately needs it. I understand that Fontana only has a few issues to work with but this is ridiculous. Nonetheless, I look forward to next issue and the hope that Ms.Fontana has only stumbled not fell.
