PREVIEW: Wonder Woman #10

Written by: Greg Rucka
Art by: Nicola Scott, Romulo Fajardo Jr and Jodi Wynne
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

“YEAR ONE” part five! The world is finally introduced to the Wonder Woman, and adversaries—both ancient and new—take note. This story was previously scheduled to appear in issue #8.

Now, that is one informative solicit.  I can't wait to see what happens as Wonder Woman takes her first steps into "Man's World".  Are we supposed to call it that?  I'm sure that's a no no nowadays, but I am always behind on such things.  Oh well, that's my lot in life!

PREVIEW: Red Hood and the Outlaws #4

Written by: Scott Lobdell
Art by: Dexter Soy, Veronica Gandini and Taylor Esposito
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

“DARK TRINITY” part four! The unimaginable has happened—Black Mask has gained control of one of the most powerful beings in the world: Bizarro! Can the Red Hood stop him before Black Mask’s reign of terror begins?

This is one of my favorite books in all of Rebirth Land and I can't wait for this issue.  We just got a sneak peak of Bizarro last issue and I want more, more, MORE!!!

PREVIEW: Deathstroke #6

Written by: Christopher Priest
Art by: Larry Hama, Carlo Pagulayan, Jason paz, Jeromy Cox and Willie Shubert
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

“The Professional” part six! Deathstroke’s honor is put to the test when he must help a tyrannical despot—Ja Zaki, a.k.a. The Red Lion—stop a civil war that he inadvertently caused. Plus: Enter Jericho!

I am not a fan of Jericho, but I will put that hate aside because I think that Christopher Priest will at least make me tolerate him.  At least that's what I hope!  If not, I still get Ja Zaki, right?  Ja Zaki anyone?  Is this thing on?!?

PREVIEW: Supergirl #3

Written by: Steve Orlando
Art by: Brian Ching, Michael Atiyeh and Steve Wands
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

“REIGN OF THE CYBORG SUPERMEN” part three! At last, Supergirl returns to Argo City! But when Kara Zor-El arrives back to her childhood home, a grim discovery awaits, courtesy of the Cyborg Superman! Supergirl must battle for the fate of not one but two worlds as yet another face from her past returns to stop her!

I don't know about you, but seeing Argo City at the end of last issue gave me the creeps.  I don't know why...maybe because of the cyborg mom waiting for Kara to "come home". Don't do it Kara!!!  And while I have you on the line, be a little nicer to the Danvers, they are trying really hard to make you feel loved.

PREVIEW: Detective Comics #944

Written by: James Tynion IV
Art by: Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira, Adriano Lucas and Marilyn Patrizio

Release Date: November 9, 2016

“The Victim Syndicate” part two! The mysterious First Victim has launched an assault on Batman and his team, forcing them to fight an enemy they know nothing about, who seems to have the support of an entire network of strange new foes!

While I don't know much about the Victim Syndicate yet, I really want to know more.  They creep me the hell out and I like it.  Funny, that's the same reason I like head cheese, but that's not really related...or is it?!?!

Arrow Season 5 Episode 5 "Human Target" Review

Shot Through the Heart

Directed by: Laura Belsey
Written by: Greg Berlanti
Starring: Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, etc.
Review by: Branden Murray

As Arrow continues its fifth season the improved pacing of each episode, and mix of new characters they’ve introduced, has dare I say provided the show with a “rebirth” of its own, in my eyes anyway.  Last week continued this shows hot streak as we were witness to Arrow breaking Diggle out of prison (for crimes he didn’t commit), while Wild Dog was captured, beaten, and being tortured by Tobias Church, after a failed mission with the new crew ... again. So let’s find out if our heroes, new and old alike, get back in the flow of things this week of if they’ll continue to drop like flies, one at a time, with new threats approaching from all directions.

Scarlet Witch #12 Review

No More Burn Victims

Written by:James Robinson
Art by: Annapaola Martello, Matt Yackey, and Cory Petit
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 2, 2016
Review by: Josh Vermillion

It’s been a long trip for Wanda and she’s finally found her aunt. It looks like we’re actually going to start getting some answers and get an idea of what this whole story has been leading to. I think I’m just as ready for that to happen as she is at this point, so let’s hope the answers are worth the wait.

Moon Knight #8 Review

I’m All Mixed Up, Marlene

Written by: Jeff Lemire
Art by: Francesco Francavilla, Wifredo Torres, James Stokoe and Greg Smallwood
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 2, 2016

Review by: Josh Vermillion

I’m a DC guy. I enjoy the occasional Marvel book and I’m a big fan of their movies, but for the most part I read DC comics. That being said, I haven’t read anything from any company that is as good as Jeff Lemire’s Moon Knight. This guy can weave a tale with the best of them. Marvel should get off the Bendis bandwagon and let this guy write an event. As long as that doesn’t take him away from this book that is.

Venom Space Knight #13 Review

With a Little Help From My Friends

Written by: Robbie Thompson
Art by: Gerardo Sandoval & Dono Sanchez Almara
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 2, 2016
Review by: Branden Murray

Venom Space Knight has sneakily become one of the Marvel comics titled under the All-New All-Different banner that I look most forward to each month. Issue thirteen, released last week, concludes this series and I’m a little sad it will be renumbered and under a new creative team for its next arc. Although Robbie Thompson and Gerardo Sandoval have become creators I will look for in the future because of their work here. With that being said let’s get into this issues events and see how everything wraps up.

Spidey #12 Review and *SPOILERS*

End of Act One

Written By: Robbie Thompson
Art By: Nathan Stockman
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 2, 2016

*Non-Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

Here we are. The end of the ride of young Peter Parker. The end of Spidey... Oh wait, Peter Parker is still around in the main continuity? So really this isn't the end, more like the end of Act One?

Seriously, though, this series has been one of my favorites that Marvel has been putting out, and while I am sad to see it go, I can't lie and say it wasn't a fantastic time. It was full of the classic web-slinging action, humor, and heart that made me fall in love with the web-head in the first place. Sure, there are times I enjoy the adventures of Peter Parker, CEO of Parker Industries, but after all he's been through, it felt nice to get back to basics and watch him grow over time. We've watched him conquer the struggles of High School, beat down villains, and learn from some of the mightiest heroes in the Marvel Universe. How will this all wrap-up? Let's dive in and find out!

Champions #2 Review and *SPOILERS* - Marvel Monday

Tonsil Tennis

Written By: Mark Waid
Art By: Humberto Ramos, Victor Olazaba, Edgar Delgado
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 2, 2016
Publisher: Marvel

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

To say that Champions is one of the biggest books at Marvel right now would be an understatement. It seems to be one of the most talked about books in comics right now and with good reason. The first issue was nearly perfect in my opinion and the book is filled with likeable characters with a message that I think most comic fans are happy to hear again. The first issue set the bar really high for this series and ended up giving us most of our team. However, noticeably missing from the first issue was Cyclops who appeared on the cover. Considering the cover of this issue, I’d say that his absence will be quickly rectified. The hype for this book is incredible and I’ve been looking forward to more of this book since I finished the final page of last month’s issue so let’s stop waiting and just jump right into this second issue.

Death of X #3 Review and *SPOILERS* - Marvel Monday

This Is War

Written By: Charles Soule, Jeff Lemire
Art By: Aaron Kuder, Javier Garron, Jay Leisten, Morry Hollowell, Jason Keith, Wil Quintana, Matt Milla, Andrew Crossley
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 2, 2016
Publisher: Marvel

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

Up to this point, the Death of X book has been an incredible little miniseries that has made me personally very excited for the upcoming Inhumans vs. X-Men event. That said, I’m ready for things to pop off in this issue. I think we’ve had enough posturing and preparing. I’m ready for Cyclops and his group of Mutants to finally clash with the Inhumans. At least, that’s what I’m hoping for in this issue. In the previous issue we had an awesome cliffhanger that included Magneto entering into the conflict as well as Storm and her group of Mutants being incapacitated by the powers of the new Inhuman Daisuke. So far, this series has been something special and I’ve been really looking forward to it continuing. How about we stop beating around the bush and just jump right into this penultimate issue.

The Unworthy Thor #1 Review and *SPOILERS* - Marvel Monday

Beware the Goat

Written By: Jason Aaron
Art By: Olivier Coipel, Matthew Wilson
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 2, 2016
Publisher: Marvel

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

One of my favorite books that came out of All-New, All-Different Marvel was easily The Mighty Thor title which followed the story of Jane Foster in her new role as Thor. So, when I heard about the same creative team coming together to create another Thor story, this time focusing on The Odinson, I was beyond excited for it. I’m so interested with what Jason Aaron is doing with the Thor section of the Marvel Universe and he’s been at it for four years now. He and his team have created some of the best Thor stories ever, in my opinion, and seeing him not ignore the story of The Odinson despite the fact that he is no longer Thor is something that I’m really grateful for. I feel like when most characters are succeeded by another character it is due to death or something like it and we lose the story that follows the character that we’ve known for a long time but this book seems to be diving headfirst into The Odinson’s life after Thor. How will he fare? Let’s find out.

Weird Science DC Comics Comic Books of the Week 11/06/2016

It's time to put last week's books to rest and get ready for the next round and the way we do that here at the Get Fresh Crew Clubhouse is by listing our Books of the Week.  While I look back at the past week with a positive feeling, we really don't have a packed house of books here.  So, here are the books that we thought deserve a second and third look...
