Catwoman #54 Review

To say that Tini Howard’s Catwoman run has been a disappointment is an understatement, and sending Selina to jail for the murder of her lover, Valmont, has not made it better.  In fact, it’s made it so much worse.  The only positive thing about this arc is that it proves that Tini has never been imprisoned. The negative, however, is that it also proves she did no research on what that would be like.  Usually, I wouldn’t mind because this is a comic book, but the shit going on in this book isn’t even good enough for those lower standards.  A big part of this story is Selina’s cat Dutchess living in the prison duct system, delivering street flavors of ramen to her in solitary.  It looks like Selina will be leaving jail soon, but even that has a laundry list of problems.  Let's get onto our video review...

Bits and Pieces:

Catwoman #54 is a complete mess of unbelievable situations setting up more of the same.  Most of the characters feel more like props than actual characters, and the ones that readers might know, are written out of character.  Hopefully, getting Selina out of prison will help this book, but I doubt it.

3.5/10

  3. Great take on Catwoman #54—many readers felt the storytelling leaned too much on contrived setups and underdeveloped character moments, despite the strong visuals. Also, if you're working on promotional art or styling mock-ups, tools like an AI remove clothes feature can streamline editing—just stay mindful and creative with how it’s used.

  5. I totally agree—Catwoman #54 feels disjointed, with weak character writing and setups that don’t really land. Maybe things will improve once Selina is out of prison, but right now it’s disappointing. Reading this makes me wonder, almost like asking como saber si soy guapa para los hombres—because the potential is there, but the execution doesn’t show it.

  6. Oof, this arc sounds like a mess. For a story so focused on the logistics of prison, it's a huge fail that the research isn't there. It almost makes you wonder if they needed a tool like http://blockblastsolverlive.com/ to help plot out a more believable and engaging system for Selina to navigate and break, instead of relying on a ramen-delivery cat. Looking forward to the full review
