The exploration about Hawkman's past continues in this issue and while I think that the revelation we got previously, where Hawkman has not only reincarnated through time, but also through space, like on the planet Rann, Krypton, along with Thanagar was a nice touch not only to spruce up the character, but to also bring some closure to the oh so convoluted origin of our winged warrior.  With that though, it's only a first step because even though Venditti's trying to explain Carter Hall, I still find this explanation over complicated and hope that it all comes together in the end so that a dummy like me can fully grasp what's going on with his era of DC's Hawkman.  Let's jump into this issue and see what we have in store for us this time.  Let's check it out.

With our Smarty-Pants Bizarro story coming to an end it's time to blow the doors off this background of Penguin and Red Hood that we've been dealing with and this issue is prepared to do just that.  After the previous issue, where Jason Todd discovered that his father didn't actually die in jail, it seems that he's going after Penguin for a little payback, since it looks like it's the little guy's fault that that his father was put away in the first place.  Let's jump into this issue where I bet that the Penguin wishes that he would have taken care of Red Hood when he could have in the last issue.  Let's check it out.

If you have been keeping abreast of the reviews of this main Star Wars title on Weird Science DC you will know that I have become increasingly impressed with this title, which has just closed off a magnificent arc set around the inclusion of Mon Cala within the growing Rebellion against the Empire. The improvement in the title's presentation, tightness and overall coherence was timely coming as it did ahead of the 50th issue, a significant achievement. Let's see how it was.

Oh boy. Going into this new title I was conflicted. I have yet to read a Black Hammer book that I haven't enjoyed. The attraction has always been that classic feel that the books have had, either in the form of the golden age, silver age or just plain old classic Americana or science-fiction. I was torn though. The Quantum Age? Set in the future? How was that going to work? Well, it's Jeff Lemire, so he has a habit of making the magic happen. Would that be the case for this latest spin-off in the Hammerverse? Let's see.
