There are a number of things one can say about Steve Orlando (and I shall be saying some of them later on in this review) but he doesn't really do 'safe'. Last month's issue took the series' central premise of interstellar diplomacy conducted through super-powered gladiatorial combat and lobbed weird alien cannibalism into the mix. The result was genuinely unsettling and pushed the whole series in a direction I wasn't expecting. Where do Orlando and the really quite impressive series artist Travel Foreman take us this issue? I was very excited when G. Willow Wilson took over this book but I have been unimpressed thus far. The first arc was ok but very generic, and it was plagued by mediocre art in the beginning. While I enjoyed the last issue more than others and probably scored it half a point too high, it was total filler and Wonder Woman wasn’t even in half the book! However, I am ready to move on and see if G. Willow can get me more stoked on the future of Diana. Let’s find out if she delivers.

Titans is in a weird place, both in the state of the comic and the actual storyline inside of it. Previously, all the momentum from this book was taken out of it only for it to be regained in the previous issue. The story is also very good so far. It wasn’t perfect but the previous issue was very entertaining and we got a great cliffhanger to start us off on in this issue. I’m hoping we see more of this type of issue as we go further with this book because God knows, that this book has been needing some life pumped into it. But nevertheless, let’s jump into this book and see where it takes us.

We have now entered a crossover! It actually comes at a pretty good time for this book. The Force Quest storyline was at a close and while there are still threads that need to be followed up on, (Commander Cold *cough cough*) the book was at a transition and moves into this storyline very easily, much unlike the Batman book. The previous issue of this crossover was… let’s say… underwhelming. Not a lot happens, there are a ton of Heroes in Crisis recaps. It didn’t get off on the right foot. However, perhaps this book will prove differently. We may have stumbled at the starting line but that doesn’t mean we can’t recover in this race. Let’s jump into this book and see where it takes us.

Supergirl is an odd book. It’s not really anything like I thought it would be. But nevertheless, I find myself really enjoying it. However, I have a pretty large criticism of the book in that they main story that was set up in the first few issues of this book, has been put on the back burner. Granted, the stories that we are getting instead are very fun so I’m not too upset by it. However, it is something that should be mentioned. The story we set up has gone nowhere while the side stories are dominating the book. It’s interesting. Not bad. But interesting nonetheless. Anyway, let’s jump into this book and see where it takes us.

I have really been enjoying this series so far.  Sure, I am a little confused with everything going on but it's the good kind of confused as I try to figure out the Batman Who Laughs plan as he is one step ahead of Batman.  I mean, how is little old me going to figure things out when Bruce can't, right?  That's the thing about the BWL...he is an evil force of nature and I'm not sure it would be the greatest thing to start thinking like him.  However, that seems to be just what Batman needs James Gordon Jr. to do.  Yea, that'll work out without a hitch.  So, how was this issue?  Let's find out...
