Suicide Squad #2 Review

Fin Fang BOOM!

Writer: Tom Taylor
Artist: Bruno Redondo, Adriano Lucas, and Wes Abbott
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: January 29, 2020

If Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo wrote and illustrated the phone book (are they still a thing?  Don't "OK Boomer" me!), I would be first in line to buy it.  Their Injustice is one of my favorite comic books of all-time, and if you haven't read it, do so immediately and then thank me later...with cheesesteaks and soft pretzels!  When DC announced they were the new creative team bringing back the Suicide Squad, I couldn't wait for the first issue, and even after being slightly underwhelmed, I am still on board with what they are cooking up.  Does this issue reward my faith?  Let's find out...

The Flash #87 Review and *SPOILERS*

Stick to the Status Quo

Written By: Joshua Williamson
Art By: Christian Duce, Luis Guerrero
Letters By: Steve Wands
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: January 29, 2020

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

We have just been treated to an amazing story by this creative team as the climax of said story has now come and gone. However, we now get to deal with the aftermath which may prove to be just as exciting. King Cold is defeated and Central City has been returned to normal, but the Speed Force is still in flux and still very dangerous so Barry chooses to turn himself in. He does this to make sure nobody else is put in danger because of him. If done right, this can lead us right into another engaging storyline and I know Williamson has the ability to do that. However, whether he will or not is another story. Let’s jump into this latest issue and see where the story takes us.

Written by: Scott Snyder

Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: January 29, 2020

I give credit to Scott Snyder for going big for his Justice League run.  DC was in a tight bind with Doomsday Clock going through delays, and Snyder stepped up, proclaimed this book was going into Event Mode, and made it so.  Unfortunately, that "go big or go home" attitude didn't allow this book to breathe much during its 39 issues, and some big questions went unanswered.  All that is in the past now with the final issue of Snyder's run here.   Do we get a satisfying conclusion?  Let's find out...
