Nightwing #72 Review

Can Someone Erase My Memory?

Writer: Dan Jurgens
Artist: Ronan Cliquet
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: July 14, 2020

Well, I can only hope that the Joker War puts this ridiculous Ric Grayson thing to bed once and for all.  If it does, can we all promise never to mention it again?  If it doesn't, on the other hand, I will lose my mind (or what little is left) and leave my favorite hero behind, which is something I never thought I would do.  This bullshit has gone on for almost two years.  TWO YEARS!!!  Two months was too long, but TWO YEARS?!?!?!?  Whoever came up with it should be fired immediately, and if it was somebody who DC already fired (Dan Didio), rehire him so they can fire him again!  Alright, that made me feel a little better.  On with the review...

There is a greater mystery at work, and Jackson makes a deep-sea discovery-but not before a depth-defying battle with Orm! Strange Adventures #3 Review

Fake News

Writer: Tom King
Artist: Mitch Gerads, Evan Shaner
Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: July 15, 2020

It's time for another Strange Adventures where I struggle to review a book that I should probably wait until it's over to start reading, let alone review.  You see, Tom King plays the long game with a twist. Things sometimes change in odd ways by the end, which makes aspects of the book null and void.  Something that seems significant at the moment (Barda's eyes changing color in Mister Miracle, The Puddlers in Heroes in Crisis) end up never coming up again or get explained away by exposition, making them seem silly rather than important.  But, it's my so-called job to do this and away we go.

Dark Nights: Death Metal #2 Review

Insert Metal Song Title Here

Writer: Scott Snyder
Artist: Greg Capullo
Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: July 14, 2020

The first issue of Death Metal was polarizing for DC fans.  Some liked the vast scope and promise that everything matters, while others found it an overly convoluted and confusing start to an event.  I can see both sides of the argument, and while I want some answers, I understand Scott Snyder should give them in due time.  Until then, everyone can enjoy the Greg Capullo art and figure it all out together.  So, how was this month's issue?  Let's find out...

It seems like forever since I heard that Sean Murphy would be co-writing a Catwoman story!  My excitement grew as I started liking this book less and less, but now it's here!  I know it's not fair to lay all my Catwoman hopes and dreams at his and Blake Northcott's feat, but screw it, I am!  Did they make me happy to be reading Catwoman again?  Let's find out...
