Cover Price: $4.99

I apologize that this review is a few days late. I know saying "I fell asleep" is usually a joke when something is extremely boring, but... I actually did fall asleep when I was reading this prior to when I was going to review it. You see... I was already very tired... and it was extremely boring.

Wonder Woman #775 Review

Writer: Becky Cloonan and Michael Conrad
Artist: Andy MacDonald
Release Date: July 13, 2021
Cover Price: $4.99

I have not liked this Wonder Woman book much since coming out of Death metal and Future State.  While seeing Wonder Woman in Asgard was cool for an issue or two, it's been dragging since.  I was hoping that things would pick up once we got to Olympus, but I have my doubts after a dull first issue.  So, did this issue up the ante and get me fired up for a Wonder Woman book for the first time in a long time?  Let's find out...

Justice League: Last Ride #3 Review

Writer: Chip Zdarsky
Artist: Miguel Mendonca
Release Date: July 13, 2021
Cover Price: $3.99

I am a huge Chip Zdarsky fan, but I haven't fully gotten on board with this book for some reason.  It might be because it's an out-of-continuity story when I am desperate to know what the new continuity and timeline are all about, but I think there is more to it.  Unfortunately, I think it's that I'm bored with this story.  I don't care much about the League hiding Lobo, and while the mystery of what tore the League apart is intriguing, I don't think that can sustain a mini-series on its own.  So, do we get something to hook me in this finally in this issue?  Let's find out...

Infinite Frontier #2 Review

Writer: Joshua Williamson
Artist: Xermanico, Jess Merino, Paul Pelletier
Release Date: July 13, 2021

I am excited about Infinite Frontier and all it could bring to the DCU.  Joshua Williamson can right a lot of continuity wrongs while setting up a ton of story opportunities. He not only gets to play with all the characters but all the worlds as well, and that's damn exciting.  So, how was this second issue after a promising first?  Let's find out...

Action Comics 2021 Annual #1 Review

Night Of The Living Phantom Zone

Written By: Phillip Kennedy Johnson
Art By: Siya Oum, Scott Godlewski, Hi-Fi, Dave Sharpe
Cover Price: $5.99
Release Date: July 13, 2021

It's storytime as we head into the future and see a tale about the House of El who we originally saw around the year 3000 in the Future State House of El one-shot from the beginning of the year and while I thought that story was okay, there wasn't much substance to it besides for showing crazy Superman descendants, like half Tamaranian ones, Blue Lantern ones and evil magic ones. That was essentially the whole deal as the House of El fought against their own to create peace in the Universe. Hopefully this Annual gives us more than what we got because if we're heading back to Future State so soon... I'm going to need a reason for the trip. Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

That's the hope anyway but this path has taken us down that road and now it's time time to see what happens to Wally West and everyone involved in that Sanctuary slaughter. Let's jump into this issue and see if the Speed Force gets sorted and where our hero will end up. Let's check it out.

The Joker #5 Review

The Long Joke

Written By: Mathew Rosenberg, James Tynion IV, Sam Johns
Art By: Francesco Francavilla, Tom Napolitano, Sweeney Boo, Ariana Maher
Cover Price: $5.99
Release Date: July 13, 2021

Previously in The Joker, we saw our Clown Prince of Crime slip away from not only our former Commissioner Gordon who unbeknownst to him was put on the hunt by the Court of Owls, but he also gave the slip to two members of the Sawyer Family, a Texas crime family, and Vengeance, the Daughter of Bane. Before he parted ways with Jim Gordon though, Joker let him in on the idea that A-Day was caused by someone else and now possibly we might have Jim Gordon on the hunt for the person framing the Joker. That's neither here nor there though because for this issue we're having a weird interlude that takes our characters back to the past and where Jim Gordon's obsession began. Let's check it out.
