DC Comics Black Label

Last Knight on Earth got off to a great start a couple months ago, with the only bad thing leaving me to say about it, is that it only comes out every couple of months because I need more. So with issue two now finally in our hands we can get back into what was a heck of an intriguing story, with a team-up I never thought I'd enjoy so much, all in another nice looking package. So let's not waste any more time and get right to discussing.

Red Hood: Outlaw Annual #3 Review

The Journey Home

Written By: Scott Lobdell
Art By: Adam Pollina, Steve Firchow, Pete Woods, Troy Peteri
Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: July 31, 2019

After a long, long wait, it's time to find out what happened to Bizarro and Artemis after they vanished through one of Smarty-Pants Bizarro's quantum doorways, when the Outlaws were still the Outlaws and Jason Todd seemed like he still had a plan of action.  Not to say that Red Hood: Outlaw hasn't been enjoyable, but when his fellow Outlaws were with him, he resembled the character that I wanted more than what we've gotten lately.  Besides my personal likes and dislikes though, let's check in with this Annual and see what Jason's better halves have been up to.  Let's check it out.

Artist: Giuseppe Camuncoli
Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: July 31, 2019

I haven't been the biggest fan of Morrison's run on Green Lantern, but sometimes all it takes is a solid one-shot Annual to do the trick.  Is this one of those times?  Let's find out...

Justice League Dark Annual #1 Review

Taking Root

Written By: James Tynion IV, Ram V
Art By: Guillem March, Arif Prianto, Rob Leigh
Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: July 31, 2019

With our first annual to this series and the extra pages that comes with it, maybe we'll get an answer to one of the aspects of how "magic was changed".  I mean, we keep hearing about it and we'll hear about it within the first couple of pages in this issue, but since our heroes' fight with the Lords of Order, all we keep hearing about is how magic is changed and I'd like to see something come of that.  With that being said, there is an aspect to one of our looming questions that has come up in this book that will be addressed this issue and I only hope that it's the beginning of a tread coming down the line.  Let's jump into this issue and see what's going on with the Parliament of Flowers.  Let's check it out.

The Batman Who Laughs #7 Review

Writer: Scott Snyder
Art Team: Jock, David Baron, Sal Cipriano
DC Comics
Release Date: July 31, 2019
Cover Price: $4.99

Jokes on You Batman

The Batman Who Laughs has been a well written, high selling, substitute Batman title for DC, picking up the slack while the main title continues to see sales fall. The slightly extended series comes to a conclusion here this month, which is a bit of the a shame, but I'm also ready for the Batman Who Laughs to take a seat on the bench for awhile ... something I dont think is happening anytime soon.  So, does Batman finally bring the Batman Who Laughs down for the count, or does the Laughing Man and his Bat-Punisher friend end up winning one for the bad guys? Lets discuss.

I was not as big a fan of the first Secret Files issue as some, but the idea that this one gives us "All you need to know about the Summer's Biggest Story" seems very promising.  I mean, they are talking about the City of Bane and not Event Leviathan, Year of the Villain or something else I'm missing, right?  Ok, let's see what this is all about...
