While I am still intrigued with Diana saving Asgard while remembering who she is, I need Cloonan and Conrad to pick up the pace a bit here.  The wow factor of it all is wearing off, and I need to see that we are setting up something meaningful and not just biding time until Diana can get back to being Wonder Woman.  Does that happen this month?  Well, not exactly...

Batman: Urban Legends is one of my favorite books out right now, and it's primarily because of Chip Zdarsky and Mathew Rosenberg.  I am digging their Red Hood and Grifter stories, and while the Outsiders story is decent, the rotating one-shots have been chiefly garbage. So is this the first issue that they all come together to create the perfect issue?  Let's find out...

Superman and son have flown off to a distant planet to check in on a race of people who Superman once helped against an intergalactic parasite and even though he was assured on his arrival that everything is fine, it seems that the threat he once helped to neutralize isn't dead after all and has taken control of the planet. Let's jump into this issue and see if Superman and Superboy can take on this threat or if they'll just be taken over too. Let's check it out.

Justice League: Last Ride #1 Review

In the Meantime...

I am always up for another Chip Zdarsky book, and with Bendis taking over the main Justice League book, I was already looking for an alternative.  That is straight-up ringing the front door shade, by the way, but enough of that, let's get on with my review of Justice League...

Let's jump into this issue and see if Jim Gordon can track down the Joker before everyone and their mothers get in on the hunt so that they can murder the Clown Prince of Crime for their own gratification.

Future State: Gotham #1 Review

Back to the Future State

Writer: Dennis Culver, Joshua Williamson
Artist: Giannis Milonogiannis
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: May 11, 2021

Future State Gotham is an odd book, and I am unsure who the target audience is.  While we are heading full steam ahead towards Future State in most books, I don't know if I am interested in going back to the future here.  Plus, having it in black and white will surely throw some people off.  I am a manga fan, so that's not an issue with me, but I get the idea from this that DC is trying to grab those big sales numbers we see from things like Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia.  The problem is, there is more to it than black and white art and Jason Todd doing his best Akira impersonation.  Besides that, is this a good book worth putting down your cash on?  Let's find out...
