Chris and Reggie's Cosmic Treadmill ep. #134 - The Flash #268 (1978)

Bagged and Boarded

Greeting, citizens of Central City! In this episode, comics enthusiasts Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) look at the hobby of comics collecting--as depicted in a comic book, when we read The Flash #268 by Cary Bates and Irv Novick, published in 1978! After the usual biographical information, our plodding speedsters go through every page of the issue and try to figure out what makes The Flash vol. 1 #26 just so darned special! After a little break, our bin-divers discuss the Golden Age issue in question, and then look at a history of cosplay and costuming. You don't want to miss this one, don't let it teleport away!

Back to the Dreaming, the only place where I ever get any actual rest. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve done better than to sleep in two-hour spurts in over a year. Could it be because I quit drinking? Never mind all that, though, check out my review of The Dreaming #8, which is just below!

Writer: Scott Snyder
Artist: Jorge Jimenez
Publisher: DC Comics
Release Date: April 3, 2019
Cover Price: $3.99

I have really been liking what we have been getting from the Justice League book lately.  It may not satisfy everyone's inner detective and while I still feel a bit left out in the cold when it comes to the 7 forces, this 6th Dimension detour has been fun and that's really what this book has been missing for quite some time.  So, do we get some answers while the fun continues?  Let's find out...

**NON SPOILERS AND SCORE AT THE BOTTOM**

A mere six-hundred years after it began, this double-sized miniseries is finally over. Even though both books included have been pretty lame, I’ve been calling it “the best value on the stands today,” given the amount of money it costs and time it takes to absorb. Will this series conclude on a high note, value-wise? You’ll have to read my review of Suicide Squad Black Files #6 to find out!

Lend Me Your Ears

Written By: Christopher Priest
Art By: Carlo Pagulayan, Jason Paz, Norm Rapmund, Jeremy Cox, Willie Schubert
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: April 3, 2019

It's the second part of the Terminus Agenda........ not including the prologue that we got in the last issue of Deathstroke that didn't do much to set this story up.  Over in the Teen Titans though, we saw our teenage heroes take Deathstroke down and Damian Wayne lock our title character up in his own personal dungeon.  What's Slade Wilson going to do about this?...... and what exactly is the Terminus Agenda?  Well, hopefully we find out here.  Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

Young Justice #4 Review

Prison Break

Written By: Brian Michael Bendis
Art By: Patrick Gleason, John Timms, Alejandro Sanchez, Alex Sinclair, Wes Abbott
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: April 3, 2019

Oh boy, I don't understand the continuity of this book, but after having a month to sit down and think about this series...... maybe I don't need to.  Yeah, it would be nice if everything worked out and made sense within itself, but if I step back and just think about these young heroes coming together and re-forming a team........ that never was...... and with people they shouldn't know...... well, maybe if I just think about this team and the adventures they could have, then maybe I can get on board with what Brian Michael Bendis is giving us.  In the previous issue we saw the majority of our heroes imprisoned by the Dark Lord Opal and Bart finding out....... along with the rest of us that Superboy has been living on Gemworld for awhile now and has a child...... yup....  Let's jump into this issue.

Adventures of the Super Sons #9 Review

Writer: Peter J. Tomasi
Art team: Scott Godlewski, Protobunker, and Rob Leigh
Covers: Dan Mora
Release Date: 4/3/19
Cover Price: $3.99
Reviewed by: Jon Wayne

I have been down on this book lately, and I don’t say that with any joy: I love Jon and Damian, will buy any book that features them together, and I genuinely want to love this series… I just don’t. Mainly because we’re 8 issues in and not much has happened. The boys got kidnapped by the Gang, escaped to a planet with weird brothers and a “wonder machine,” were arrested and taken to a prison planet, and have now escaped with a Green Lantern recruit… Yeah, that’s really all that has happened to date. With only 4 issues left can my man Peter Tomasi give us something? Let’s find out.
