Can the Green Lanterns of 8614 make quick work of a guy fueled by jealousy that now has access to all of the colors of the emotional spectrum?  Use the "Phantom Lantern" label to read my other reviews from this arc.

Batgirl #41 Review

The Hero Burnside Deserves

Written By: Cecil Castellucci
Art By: Carmine Di Giandomenico, Jordie Bellaire, Andworld Design
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 27, 2019

Burnside's ablaze as the robot monster Oracle confronts Batgirl, but our hero went and flipped the script on this machine claiming to be Barbara's pride and joy, when she leaped off the building they were on and into the fire below.  Thankfully, there was also water below so I'm sure that Barbara will be just fine.  Let's jump into this issue and see if we can learn anything more about this Oracle monster or really......... just find out how any of this makes sense.  Let's check it out.

Justice League Dark #17 Review

Diana's Got The Body, Circe Has The Brains

Written By: James Tynion IV
Art By: Javi Fernandez, John Kalisz, Rob Leigh
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 27, 2019

The war of magic rages on and with each issue it seems like Circe and her Legion of Doom Dark are gaining more and more ground on our heroes.  This became overwhelming obvious in the previous issue, where Wonder Woman's consciousness was trapped in the collective unconscious, while Circe stole her body and put on her very best Diana impersonation so that she could get her hands on the black diamond of Eclipso.  Let's jump into this issue and see if our heroes can start winning and if Man-Bat will ever come back from being a reject from John Carpenter's The Thing.  Let's check it out.

Supergirl Annual #2 Review and *SPOILERS*

The Past That Haunts You

Written By: Robert Venditti
Art By: Laura Braga, Chris Sotomayor
Letters By: Tom Napolitano
Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: November 27, 2019

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

Supergirl has once again been dragged into another book’s story. Judging by the cover of this issue (yes, I know we’re not supposed to do that), this issue will continue to add to that story rather than be a separate issue like annuals sometimes are. I am still a bit upset that Supergirl is once again being dragged into something else, especially now that there are so many hanging threads from the issues that took place before. However, I hope that we can at least make the most of it. The idea behind all of this isn’t a bad one. It just comes at a bad time and now Supergirl feels more like a companion book. However, maybe it’ll be the best companion book that we could possibly have asked for. Let’s just jump into this new issue and see where it takes us.

Ink: Christian Alamy, Keith Champagne, Mark Irwin, Matt Santorelli
Colors: David Baron

Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 27th, 2019

Review by Joey Casco of TheWineStalker.net

Nora Fries is back and she has turned against her husband, so now Mr. Freeze must team up with Batman to help save her from herself. And, like most the stuff in this arc, it doesn't make much sense.

Basketful of Heads #2 Review

Writers: Joe Hill
Artist: Leomacs
Colorist: Dave Stewart
Letterer: Deron Bennet
Editors: Mark Doyle & Amedeo Turturro
Release Date: November 27th, 2019
Cover Price: $3.99

Review written by Joey Casco of TheWineStalker.net

The first issue of this miniseries was a very wordy character development issue that took quite a bit of time to read as we were given reasons to care about what happens to these characters, but issue #2 moves really fast as the action picks up right from the beginning.

Red Hood: Outlaw #40 Review

Getting The Band Back Together

Written By: Scott Lobdell
Art By: David Messina, Rex Lokus, Troy Peteri
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 27, 2019

The concept of Red Hood teaching a group of meta kids how to be villains is something that sounded like a lot of fun originally, but sadly I haven't been having a lot of fun yet.  Maybe that can all turn around with this issue now that Doomed is with the team and their heading back to The Block after Red Hood found out that Shay Veritas was in trouble.  Maybe this will be a team building exercise that really gets me on board with this team of kids because right now I need something that really gets me on board with anything that's been going on here.  Maybe Bizarro and Artemis are just what I need because they should be making their way back to this book anytime now.  Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

Batman Beyond #38 Review

A Blight On The City

Written By: Dan Jurgens
Art By: Sean Chen, Sean Parsons, Chris Sotomayor, Travis Lanham
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 27, 2019

Let's head back to the future of Neo Gotham and Batman Beyond as we continue to find out if Terry McGinnis will remember who he is and hopefully figure out who the new Batwoman is.  Previously, we saw Matt McGinnis and Bruce Wayne placing their bets on who this new figure standing in for Terry while he's gone is and they better hope that whoever is behind the mask is capable because in the background we also have the return of Blight.  Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

Freedom Fighters #11 Review

Freedom Is On The March

Written By: Robert Venditti
Art By: Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira, Adriano Lucas, Andworld Design
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 27, 2019

It's the penultimate issue of taking back America from the Nazis and it's been a wild ride, but to do this issue right, you're going to have to have a wilder ride leading up to the finale next issue, which I'm all for because I've been enjoying this book immensely and am getting kind of sad now that I know it's going to end.  In the previous issue we saw Adolf Hitler III kill his daddy and take control of the Third Reich all because he wants to end the Freedom Fighters once and for all and Adolf Jr. wasn't willing to send out the Cyborg Overman again, but with him now gone........ it's time to see if our heroes can once again stand up to this metal monster.  Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

Shazam! #8 Review

Power Outage

Written By: Geoff Johns
Art By: Scott Kolins, Michael Atiyeh, Rob Leigh
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 27, 2019

It's finally here!  The next installment to the seriously delayed Shazam! series and I think we should all take a minute, breath and take this all in because who knows when we'll get the next issue.  Okay, shade aside, I'm happy as hell that this came out this week because I've been dying to know what Billy Batson would do after the last issue, when he was pulled into the Darklands while looking for Darla and Freddy.  Let's just hope that Pedro and Eugene can hold out a little longer in the Wozenderlands because sadly, they really aren't a priority this issue.  Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

The Flash #83 Review and *SPOILERS*

Jailbreak!

Written By: Joshua Williamson
Art By: Rafa Sandoval, Jordi Tarragona, Arif Prianto
Letters By: Steve Wands
Cover Price: $3.99

Release Date: November 27, 2019

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

While the Flash has taken a significant turn from the story we were telling previously, it definitely feels like a breath of fresh air. We have a brand new world to tell a brand new story inside of. While it’s not exactly a story we’ve never seen before, it has enough new things about it that it doesn’t feel stale or a copy of previous stories. The characters that we are familiar with are now thrust into this new predicament and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens. We even got a major cliffhanger at the end of the previous issue when we discovered that Flash has been captured by Captain Cold and Commander Cold was killed for siding with the resistance. Without further ado, let’s jump into this new issue and see where it takes us.

Batman: Creature of the Night #4 Review

More Than Human

Writer: Kurt Busiek
Artist: John Paul Leon and Todd Klein
Cover Price: $5.99
Release Date: November 27, 2019

I really liked the first three issues of this book, but after such a long delay, I was worried it may not have that magical spark that it did for me when it began.  I really didn't expect this day to actually come, but let's jump in a see what Bruce Wainwright has been up to.

Tales From The Dark Multiverse: Infinite Crisis #1 Review

One Beetle Army Corps

Written By: James Tynion IV
Art By: Aaron Lopresti, Matt Ryan, Romulo Fajardo Jr., Rob Leigh
Cover Price: $5.99
Release Date: November 27, 2019

It's back to the Dark Multiverse for us, which thankfully isn't the worst thing possible because with each of these installments we're getting, it seems that they're getting better and better.  It's just too bad that Tempus Fuginaut's original plan of gathering people seems to have been sidelined for him to instead just gawk at heroes with their "what if" situations, where this time we're shown Ted Kord living after his encounter with Maxwell Lord.  Let's jump into this issue and see what this Dark Multiverse Infinite Crisis looks like.

Action Comics #1017 Review

It's About to Get Ugly

Written by: Brian Michael Bendis
Art by: John Romita Jr., Klaus Janson, Brad Anderson, and Dave Sharpe
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 27, 2019

I am taking over Action Comics for Eric since he has a bunch of books to review this week and that's fine with me since I have been enjoying Action more than Superman.  That is a bit of a backhanded compliment since I haven't been liking either actually, just don't hate this one as much. So, how was this issue?  Let's find out...
