It's finally here. Not only are we looking at the finale to our current Justice League series, but Joshua Williamson is making sure that it goes out with a bang... with the Death of the Justice League. Yeah, as comic book fans we look at titles like this and we mostly shake our heads because we're used to the word "death" not meaning much when it comes to comics, but let's hold our skepticism for a second so that we can look at this title of "Death of the Justice League" and simply know that while it's promising something that will never happen, it's mostly just trying to set a mood for what to expect from the next big thing coming out of DC Comics... Dark Crisis. Let's jump into this issue and see what happens to our greatest heroes as they come face to face with the soldier of the Great Darkness. Let's check it out.

Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: April 26, 2022

I have been enjoying Dark Knights of Steel a whole lot, but it always seems to be outshined by something else when it comes out.  This week it's Justice League #75, but don't sleep on this book because it is shaping up to be another great Tom Taylor Elseworlds story.  So after the last issue's cliffhanger (Bruce taken in by the Kents), what does Tom Taylor have for us this month?  The answer is plenty!

Detective Comics #1059 Review

Riddle Me Something

Artist: Ivan Reis, David Lapham, Danny Miki
Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: April 26, 2022

Detective Comics #1059 begins the end of Mariko Tamaki's time on Detective Comics.  While I am sure her run has its fair share of fans, I'm not one of them.  Like her Wonder Woman story before it, an overall lack of focus bothered me, and I was vocal about the waste of time the whole Arkham Tower story was.  However, hope springs eternal, and cowriter Nadia Shammas is helping out for the stretch run.  So let's see how Tamaki and Shammas kick this off...

We're Warworld bound once again as we jump back into Action Comics to see how Superman is progressing in his revolution of Mongul's hold on the slaves of his planet of plight. Previously we saw Midnighter gathering an army of slaves so that they could destroy the red sun engine, while Superman was getting a little powered up due to some Genesis pieces found in the bowels of Warworld, but nothing really is going our heroes' way at the moment because on top of Mongul wanting to kill some children to drive Superman into a pit of despair, but the current despair that our new OMAC is feeling due to Lightray dying has led her to join Mongul's cause with the promise that the Warzoons will be able to bring the Tangent Earth Flash back to life and back into the arms of OMAC. Let's see how Superman is doing this issue.

Teen Titans Academy #14 Review

No More Pencils, No More Books

Written By: Tim Sheridan
Art By: Tom Derenick, Peter Pantazis, Rob Leigh
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: April 26, 2022

It's the penultimate issue of Teen Titans Academy and it's crazy because, with the Red X stuff in this book, the four horsemen of the Apocalypse and War For Earth-3, and Suicide Squad tie-ins, we really haven't done much with our new characters, let alone our previous Teen Titans, who are now the upper-classmen. Previously we saw Gorilla Gregg and Addison figure out a way to save Changeling and Cyborg after Titans Tower was destroyed, but sadly that way means combining them together as we saw in Future State, and hopefully, in this issue and the next we can figure out a way to make sure that future never happens. Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

It's the what would have been the final issue of The Joker, but here we are with the knowledge that there's another issue to this series to tie everything up...... which just leads to all kinds of questions about what happened behind the scenes at DC Comics because while we'll get some conclusions to our current story here, it's barely an ending. So let's jump into this issue and see what happened to Jim Gordon, Cressida, and Bane when they finally caught up with Vengeance, who had decimated the Sampson Family... and obviously, let's find out what happened to The Joker when Bane refused to let Vengeance kill him. Let's check it out.
