So James Bond is something that nothing else has been able to match in modern culture. It started out as a successful book series by Ian Fleming and then had a misstep as a made for TV movie by CBS. However, the movie rights did find their way eventually to Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman’s hands. They filmed with a budget of $1.1 million dollars Dr. No starring Sean Connery. They made back 59.5 million and since then in 1962 we have had James Bond films, even well after his creator's death in 1964. I am a fan to say the least. Of the Bond films the most because Ian Fleming's novels while terse are not engaging to me. So I was honestly curious what way this comic series would go, would they be the terse fantasy that Fleming wrote or the more action packed and at times farcical movies that I have come to love. Well let us dive in and find out.

Top 5 Fridays: Top 5 Things to Make Earth 2 Great Again

Welcome to another exciting edition of Top 5 Fridays. This week we finally had a rebirth for Earth 2... kind of. While it did not carry the Rebirth name, The alternate Earth was reborn thanks to Fury's Pandora Casket. I'm excited for what comes next in this new reborn earth. Eric and I are veterans of the Earth 2 series, and I'm sure we both agree that Earth 2 needed this. Now I'm not going to act like I'm a big time comic book writer, but for this week's list, I'm going to go over advice I would give Dan Abnett as we proceed forward. I know he probably has a plan but consider this therapeutic. This is an opinion-based list, which will be pointing out what I found wrong with all the Earth 2 series, so if you don't like it, I apologize. With that intro out of the way, let's dive in.

Batman / TMNT Adventures #1 Review

What if 90’s Batman met Nickelodeon’s Ninja Turtles?

Written by: Matthew K. Manning
Art by: Jon Sommariva, Sean Parsons, & Leonardo Ito
Publisher: IDW/DC
Review by: Branden Murray
Were you a fan of the first Batman/TMNT comic crossover that wrapped up in the middle of the year? Oh good, because that’s exactly what you’re getting more of in their latest mash up, presented in partnership by IDW and DC Comics. While this title, called Batman Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures #1, isn’t a continuation of the previous crossover, I still looked forward to the title because of the quality of its predecessor. Early bonus points are also awarded for pulling off art styles from iterations of two different cartoon eras, based on the preview pages anyway. I mean this looks so damn good I’d whistle at it walking down the street. So without further hesitation let’s get into this book and see these various ninjas do their ninja thing.

DC Comics Best Covers of the Week 11/9/16

Your Mileage May Variant

This has been one heck of a week in the United States of America, I tell you what! And it's not even over yet. Let's take a quick break and look at the very best DC Comics covers this week. But first: a Public Service Announcement from Hal Jordan not to stick your hand into the garbage disposal to get some lost silverware! It's dangerous.

Also, steer clear of open stoves.

I write so much nonsense in these introductions, I don’t know if I’ve ever revealed that I believe in the paranormal. I’ve never had a personal experience that really cemented it for me, but I think there’s enough physical and anecdotal evidence to say that something wacky is going on here. Even if it’s just auditory and visual hallucinations brought on by the proximity to overhead wires or whatever, I think that’s fascinating enough to pursue. Why do so many people see similar apparitions in the same places? What do we make of EVP recordings? Why do exorcisms seem to work, sometimes? I was hoping to find out in the pages of Superwoman #4, but no luck. I did find out some other stuff, though…why not read on and see what it is!

It was right about this time of year during the first semester of school that my brain would turn to mush. My brain is primarily mush, anyway—all of ours are—but it would really become sodden and soggy with thoughts of the holidays and meals and presents and, most importantly, time off from school. I think this is why there are large, turkey-shaped gaps in my understanding of American history. Like, I know white folks landed on Plymouth Rock, and they were starving, and had a big meal with local Natives that included turkey? Anyway, don’t let your brain get soggy reading Gotham Academy Second Semester! There’s always a mystery afoot!

**NON SPOILERS AND SCORE AT THE BOTTOM**

It’s a new arc, and the dawn of a new day here at Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps. I made no secret about finding the previous seven-issue(!) story bloated and full of redundancies, but I believe that each time we turn the page there is an opportunity to do better. So let’s begin this arc with open minds and open hearts, and see what’s happening in Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #8! Though, since Hal is dead, you can probably call this Formerly Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps.

**NON SPOILERS AND SCORE AT THE BOTTOM**

I’ve wondered why I like the Doom Patrol so much, why the team in its many iterations is my favorite in all of comics. I suppose it’s as much a matter of chance as anything else; there, but for the grace of the Uncanny X-Men, go I. But there is some common thread, some inherent weirdness that must get my Weirdy Sense tingling, even during somewhat rote runs like the ones of Kupperberg and Larsen or John Byrne. Well, whatever it is, the current run of Doom Patrol is a heapin’ helpin’ of weirdness that I can’t wait to read whenever I get my greasy mitts on a new issue. So what am I babbling about? Read on for my review!

Red Hood and the Outlaws #4 Review

Stop Draggin' My Heart Around

Written by: Scott Lobdell
Art by: Dexter Soy, Veronica Gandini and Taylor Esposito
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

There has been no greater Cinderella Story in Rebirth than Red Hood and the Outlaws.  Scott Lobdell has taken a book that was mostly ignored (when it wasn't getting ripped apart) and turned it into something that people are now clamoring for.  It's about time that people open their eyes to what a great character Jason Todd is, but there is a bit more to it as well.  Lobdell is taking his time introducing his "Dark Trinity" and is using the space to establish not only his characters, but the bond between them.  I'm not talking the usually bonding stuff here, but actually showing why Jason would care about Artemis and Bizarro, but also why they would want to be hanging around him as well.  It's all really good stuff and constantly makes me wish this was one of the books that came out twice a month.  So, do I keep wishing that and does Scott Lobdell keep giving me what I crave?  Let's find out...

Earth 2: Society #18 Review and *SPOILERS*

Back To Reality

Written By: Dan Abnett
Art By: Bruno Redondo, Juan Albarran, Rex Lokus, Travis Lanham
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

Earth 2 is doing its damnedest right now to try and pull itself out of the muck that its been stuck in ever since we had that weekly series, Earth 2: World's End and all I can say is....... It's about damn time.  I have a special place in my heart for this series........ Well, not this series, but Earth 2 in general because it's what got me into the New 52 and I've struggled for so long now to keep reading the adventures of these Wonders because it's just been pretty damn bad....... and that's when it's still keeping with its own continuity.  Previously, we saw Fury open the Pandora Casket so that Ultra-Humanite couldn't get his damn dirty paws on it and with that act, the entire world was bathed in light and when everyone could see again, they seemed to be transported to a ghost world, where the cityscape they inhabited was merely an outline of a Metropolis that was destroyed when Apokolips consumed the original Earth 2.  Yeah, things are weird and they didn't getting any less weird when a robotic voice started talking about cohesion being imminent and that lethal force was approved for the anomalies detected........... which meant that multiple Golden Age Sandmen were sent out of nowhere to kill our heroes.  Let's jump into this issue and see if we can wrap our head around what's going on.  Let's check it out.

Mother Panic #1 Review and *SPOILERS*

Mother Panic #1
"A Work in Progress, Part One"
Written by Jody Houser
Art by Tommy Lee Edwards
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: 11.09.2016

It seems like many comics fans have been begging for some new... non-derivative characters coming out of the "big two".  It seems as though the Young Animals at DC have finally heard our (or my... I'd never try and speak for anyone else) pleas with the release of Mother Panic.

Was she worth the wait?  Let's dive right in and find out!

Deathstroke #6 Review

Double Agent

Written by: Christopher Priest
Art by: Larry Hama, Carlo Pagulayan, Jason Paz, Jeromy Cox and Willie Shubert
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

Deathstroke has been an odd book for me.  I like it enough and actually enjoy it more with multiple readings, but it still doesn't leave any sort of lasting impression with me when I'm done.  Maybe it's because I am not the biggest Deathstroke fan out there or the fact that my head is usually spinning when I hit the last page, but I can't say it is one of my favorites since Rebirth started.  However, going by review scores alone, it is one of my top rated books!  It's an enigma wrapped in a puzzle I guess.  So, does this issue break the mold and get a high score while also making a lasting impression with this ADD suffering reviewer?  Let's find out...

Wonder Woman #10 Review

True That

Written by: Greg Rucka
Art by: Nicola Scott, Romulo Fajardo Jr and Jodi Wynne
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

I love Wonder Woman and loved the one-shot Barbara Minerva story that we go last time in place of the usual Year One story.  However, I have to admit that after that issue and the recent "Lies" story, it feels like Year One is being left behind a bit.  Maybe it's just me, but the neck in neck race between the two stories shifted to the Lies and I hope that Year One can make a strong stretch run.  With Nicola Scott on art (for now), it shouldn't be hard.  So, does this issue get me pumped back up for the Year One story?  Let's find out...

Batgirl and The Birds of Prey #4 Review and *SPOILERS*

History Lesson

Written By: Julie Benson, Shawna Benson
Art By: Roge Antonio, Allan Passalaqua, Deron Bennett
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

The hunt is still on for the faux-Oracle, but Huntress' personal hunt for Santo has led to a rift in the team........ Well, that and the fact that she doesn't have a problem killing people...... that hurts the team a little.  At the end of the previous issue we saw Fenice's snake-men kidnap Santo right under the noses of our heroes and saw Huntress leave the Birds of Prey team.  Let's jump into this issue and see if Huntress can make it on her own or if the Birds will pull her back to their nest and smooth everything over.  Let's check it out.

Action Comics #967 Review and *SPOILERS*

Marked For Death

Written By: Dan Jurgens
Art By: Tyler Kirkham, Arif Prianto, Rob Leigh
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

If there's one thing I can say about Action Comics, it's that it remains consistent....... Only problem there is, it consistently throws mysteries at us and that's about it, without answering any questions before it moves on to a brand new mystery wrapped in an enigma folded into dumbfounded look on my face.  I mean, we've got Mr. Oz going on, Doomsday making a reappearance, a human Clark Kent, the New 52 Lois Lane sending the Pre-Flashpoint Lois messages within dreams from beyond the grave and now two Apokolipteans who have come to Earth so that they can kill the destroyer of worlds.  Yeah, it's a lot to grasp and hopefully we'll break that consistent mold that this series has taken and get some answers out of this arc........... but I won't hold my breath.  Let's jump into this issue of Action Comics and find out who these Apokolipteans are after and why they think they need to kill him.  Let's check it out.

Supergirl #3 Review

Daddy's Home

Written by: Steve Orlando
Art by: Brian Ching, Michael Atiyeh and Steve Wands
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

I have enjoyed Supergirl enough since Rebirth started, but I have to say I am more of a Cyborg
Superman guy than a Cat Grant guy.  I know that DC probably wants Steve Orlando to give fans a book that is more in line with the show, but the Cyborg Superman stuff is way more interesting and I need more of it!  That being said, I also like seeing the Danvers' struggle as new parents and hope that we get a showdown between them and Zor-El now that Daddy's home!  Speaking of home's, there is also the whole thing with Argo City that intrigues me since it looks like it came straight out of T2!  So, do I get what I want from this issue?  Let's find out...

The Flash #10 Review

Flash Fact

Written by: Joshua Williamson
Art by: Felipe Watanabe, Oclair Albert, Chris Sotomayor and Steve Wands
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

I am glad that the Godspeed arc is over for a number of reasons, but most of all it's because I am
more interested in Wally West being Kid Flash than anything else in this book.  After last issue's meeting of the two Wallys, I am pretty pumped up that going forward, we will get a heavy dose of Kid Flash before (if?) he leaves for more Teen Titan type pastures.  I seem to be one of the few that not only doesn't mind this Wally West, but actually likes him.  The only problem I ever had with him was that the writers didn't seem to have anything for him to do.  Well, that problem is gone and I hope that Joshua Williamson gives everyone a reason to embrace him.  Does that happen in this issue?  Let's find out...

All-Star Batman #4 Review and *SPOILERS*

Beast From The East

Written By: Scott Snyder
Art By: John Romita Jr., Danny Miki, Dean White, Steve Wands, Declan Shalvey, Jordie Bellaire
Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

Batman has had himself a hell of a road trip with Two-Face and while I'd like to say that the journey has become easier now that Duke has called "Shotgun", it certainly hasn't.  In case you haven't been reading All-Star Batman up to this point, our hero has been taking Harvey Dent to a house where the two spent time during their childhood for separate psychiatric reasons and where the two as adults planned on reopening this children's home before Harvey got all acid-y.  It's at this house where a cure for Harvey might be, but from what we've seen so far, it all seems like a big ruse.  As our previous issue closed, it seemed like a bunch of ninjas tried to stop the Dark Knight as a part of Two-Face's agreement with Gotham that if someone stopped Batman from his task, Harvey would pay them handsomely and also not send out all the secrets he's collected on the populace over the years.  If that wasn't enough, we also saw Two-Face pour a vile of acid on our hero's eyes and since Batman is already beat to holy hell, I don't know if he'll be able to keep trekking.  Let's jump into this issue and see if Batman wins the day or if KGBeast catches up to him and shows him just how dangerous he really is.  Let's check it out.

Detective Comics #944 Review

My Name is Mud(Face)

Written by: James Tynion IV
Art by: Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira, Adriano Lucas and Marilyn Patrizio
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: November 9, 2016

Now that we have put the Night of the Monster Men into the rear view mirror, James Tynion has
jumped out the gates with his Victim Syndicate story.  Sure, the beginning of the story had a forced bit with people protesting Batman, but I loved seeing both Luke Fox and Harper Row once again.  I also was very intrigued by the Victim Syndicate and it's colorful members and can't wait to learn more about them.  So, does Tynion keep kicking ass and give us readers more of what we love?  Let's find out...

“BOTTLED LIGHT” part one! The Green Lantern Corps may be back up and running, but how will they protect the universe with the Sinestro Corps as partners? Plus, what happened to Hal Jordan—and who can bring him back from beyond?

Uh oh...is this going to become a "buddy cop" movie? I sure freakin' hope so. "Look Soranik; we ain't siblings we ain't partners, and we ain't friends...I'm puttin' you down and keepin' you down until Sinestro is locked up or dead, if he gets away, you'll be sorry you ever met me...." I would also accept a Revenge of the Nerds scenario where the underdogs become the heroes by arranging several wacky hijinks.
