The Joker #13 Review

Vengeance Is The Lord Of The Harvest

Written By: James Tynion IV, Sam Johns
Art By: Giuseppe Camuncoli, Cam Smith, Arif Prianto, Tom Napolitano, Belen Ortega, Luis Guerrero, Becca Carey
Cover Price: $5.99
Release Date: March 8, 2022

It's the penultimate issue of the Joker where it feels like we really have to start wrapping a lot of things up fast in not only the gigantic story going on in our main plot but the trial of Punchline in the backup. Previously we saw the Sampson Family kidnap the Joker so that they can take revenge on him for killing their family member during A-Day, but little do they know that Joker didn't cause A-Day, which leads us to our big cliffhanger of the previous issue where Jim Gordon was confronted by a living Bane, who's been in the shadows this whole time and not only did he not die in A-Day.... somehow, he was also the person behind the attack. Man, we've got Court of Owls stuff here, a Network that's cloning baddies and the Sampson Family plot that needs to be wrapped up, and probably things I'm forgetting but this will be the start to it. Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

Superman: Son of Kal-El #9 Review

The Rising Problems

Written By: Tom Taylor
Art By: Bruno Redondo, Wade Von Grawbadger, Adriano Lucas, Wes Abbott
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: March 8, 2022

It's time for our part 2 of the Nightwing/Superman crossover that previously saw Jon and Nightwing coming together in more ways than one. In our first part we saw that with the billions of dollars that Alfred left him, Dick Grayson was using some of his money to fund The Truth, the news outlet that is run by Jon's boyfriend, Jay Nakamura. That wasn't all though because the Rising continues, with President Bendix trying to put his Post-Human army to good use, but bad use to everyone else, where three of his group were going around killing superheroes, one of them being the former Titan, Risk. Let's jump into this issue and see what Jon and Dick will do to get to the bottom of this and maybe incriminate Lex Luthor in this operation. Let's check it out.

I Am Batman #7 Review

What The Bat Brings

Written By: John Ridley
Art By: Christian Duce, Rex Lokus, Troy Peteri
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: March 8, 2022

Jace Fox continues his adventures as Batman now that he's moved to New York City and while he believed that he'd simply be dealing with regular crime and things on a street level that he wanted to define his time as Batman, it seems that people are right in the idea that crazy follows Batman wherever he goes because right away a psychotic killer has taken out a prominent figure in the city. I also don't think that Jace had planned on being offered a position in a new task force by the city that would see him lead police officers in a sort of Special Crimes Unit. Let's jump back into this series and see how this new status quo works for this Batman. Let's check it out.

The Great Darkness is a multiversal threat that encompasses several high-profile DC titles.  Infinite Frontier, Justice League Incarnate, the upcoming Death of the Justice League, and this summer’s Dark Crisis promise an entropic black nothingness at the hands of an antagonist.  The likes of which DC readers only think they have experienced in past Crises.  I state with a heavy bias that it is a great time to be a DC Comics fan.  Writer Brian Bendis does his part in raising the stakes in the Great Darkness Saga by connecting the impact of the blackness to both the 21st and 31st Centuries and its greatest respective superhero teams.
