My last review of the Postal series was for issue 25. Turns out that issue was planned as a concluding installment of a long-planned 25 issue run. I loved it. After the series conclusion to the regular POSTAL series, this issue is a one-shot story showing Mark’s fate in the town one year later. There are a few of these one-shots planned and Laura will be given the standalone treatment next. Let's not get ahead of ourselves though...

After the usual biographies for Howard Mackie, Al Milgrom, John Byrne and Kieron Dwyer, the Hollywood Kids read both stories contained in this issue--the second one of the first appearances of The Vision in his all-white look! Then they talk about an old rural discount chain from whence Aaron's issue derived, and wrap up with a list of superheroes that had arguably unfortunate changes to their standard costumes. Approaching this final issue of Wonder Woman/Conan is a decidedly bitter-sweet experience. The series has been generally excellent and, with Marvel having reacquired the license to everyone's favourite barbarian, further adventures featuring these two characters looks rather unlikely. A shame, but let's not dwell on what may or may not be, eh? There's a city to save and crow-goddesses to defeat. Let's hope Conan can figure out what on earth he's meant to do with that mystically glowing lasso…

It’s that time of the month where I come and tell you all about how this series is struggling. It just is. It may have it’s fans but the series has become stagnant and slow. However, there is always a possibility that the series may surprise us. It’s unlikely at this point but perhaps it will. We have returned to Bennett’s writing in this issue and while I’ve been giving her quite a bit of flack for this series, I would say that I’d rather continue reading her story than get any more of what we got from the last issue. Granted, if they were going to bring in someone completely new to build a brand new story on, I would be all for that (what’s Greg Rucka doing right now?) but let’s just dive right in and see what this issue has in store for us.

Well, we finally made it. After four extremely wordy issues and one surprisingly good issue last month, it's the end of John Ridley's follow-up American Way series. Despite being positive about the last issue, I haven't enjoyed this series as a whole up to this point. The characters haven't been likable, there is way too much heavy-handed dialogue, and the story has barely moved forward. That being said, I am holding out hope for a strong ending based solely on the fifth issue. So let's jump in and see if John Ridley can ride that momentum and carry it through to the end of the series.

Well, I'm not sure what to expect heading into this book. I have been pretty high on Vertigo's books lately and I consider myself a Joshua Williamson fan. On the other hand, Williamson's Flash run started off very slow for me and I rarely like any art by Riley Rossmo. So that leaves me in a weird spot with this one. The concept seems pretty cool but also very out there, and the cover doesn't really tell me much. So, with all of that, I'm going to keep an open mind and not go in with any preconceived biases. Let's take a peak in and see what this new book is all about.

I don't know why, but it feels like forever since we've gotten an issue of Super Sons.  So, coming out of the Super Sons of Tomorrow crossover, I am really hoping this book gets some momentum going and starts dishing out the fun a title like this should be serving up.  Well, with rumors of this book ending in a handfull of issues, I guess I will take whatever we get, but a man can hope, can't he?  So, did this issue put a smile on my face?  Let's find out...

I haven't been too keen on this Nightwing run since Sam Humphries jumped onboard.  I think he does a decent job getting Dick's voice down, but this whole Judge story has been a huge miss for me.  It just keeps stumbling on and without knowing the Judge's actual powers (are they tech, magic, something else???), I can't get a full grip on what's going on here.  Plus, Humphries sets up one of the most nonsensical versions of wishes vs monkey paws I have ever read or seen.  They aren't clever or surprising and again, without knowing how he is making it all happen, I'm left wondering why these people are going through with situations where the end result is very clear and very present danger!  Maybe we will find out in this issue, but saying that for the fifth time just points out the bigger problem we are facing.  Well, do we find out more?  Let's see...

It's time to get all preachy on the planet Galymayne, where Superman and Superboy have come to save its inhabitants before the planet explodes.  Too bad that the people here believe that their god demands their death and are willing to fight Superman with their faith magic to make sure they do....... It's also a bit weird that Superman would force his will on them like that, but whatever.  At the end of the previous issue our two heroes had escaped the angry mob with the only scientist of the planet and the trio now make their way to his lab so that they may find a way to continue his species.  Let's jump into this issue and see if Robinson goes a little easier on faith in this issue.  Let's check it out.

I may have mentioned it before, but Swamp Thing is the character that brought me into regularly reading superhero comics, and the DC Universe in specific. I’d been reading comics already, primarily in my father’s collected editions that were becoming more prevalent in the 1980s, but it wasn’t until an issue of Saga of the Swamp Thing that I became interested in reading regularly. And that led me to read a story in Gotham City, which led me to reading Batman, then Justice League, and so on. So when I see that he’s part of this “Milk Wars” un-event…I get a little protective. The People Vs. The Justice League continues with this issue, where the trust of the people has been severely damaged after a nun was killed during a Justice League operation.  To make matters worse, our heroes are also up against The Fan, a man who's the biggest fan of the Justice League, who is willing to do anything to maintain their roles as heroes....... including murder.  The biggest problem with this is...... you know, besides the whole murder thing, is that he is a master of disguise and goes about his dirty work while looking like our heroes.  He's smart, dangerous and worst of all, he knows everything about our heroes so even if the Justice League takes him down, what will they do with him.  Let's jump into this issue and see if The Fan strikes again and if the people start changing their minds about the people who have protected them for years.  Let's check it out.

Like I said in the first issue of this series, I've been waiting for a solo Duke Thomas book for awhile and even though this title has Batman in it, this really is a solo Duke Thomas book........... the only problem is, this doesn't feel all that much like Duke Thomas.  Now don't get me wrong.  We have Duke, we have him rocking The Signal name and going around and doing the whole "superhero" thing, but with his powers being so new and only seen briefly in two issues previous to this series...... and the fact that Dark Nights: Metal isn't finished yet and we don't know what may come from that.... I feel kind of lost in this.  I don't know if it's over written or under explained, but something is going on here to the point where I'm just having a hard time following the narrative of this meta-human crisis going on in Gotham and even after reading this and the previous issue, I really don't understand Duke's powers or anything really going on in this series.  Maybe that's just me though.  Let's jump into this issue and see the further adventures of The Signal as he goes up against other meta-kids, who claim that their powers come from our hero.  Let's check it out.

I'm guessing that I better start being careful what I wish for.  Let's jump into this issue that's all about Poison Ivy breaking bad and see how it makes sense to the Batgirl and the Birds of Prey continuity and the fact that Ivy and Catwoman are good friends.  Let's check it out.
