Future State hasn't been kind to Kara so far, but maybe being Superwoman will buck the trend.  I mean, it's not like she's going to be stuck in a Moon Colony with a shapeshifting alien who can steal her powers and is on the run from her power-hungry relatives, right?  Oh no...

It's the year 2035 and the Green Lantern Corps.. or what's left of it is in a bad way. For this issue, we'll be seeing John Stewart for our main story and Jessica Cruz and Guy Gardner for the backups so let's get to as we take a peek into the Green Lanterns' future. Future State: Kara Zor-El Superwoman #1 follows the titular character after she relocates to the Moon to assume the role of protector of a large colony of displaced individuals. Kara struggles with her past, her unsettled conflict with the Kents (Jon and Clark), and her new role of protector over a colony that doesn't fully welcome her presence. When a refugee on the run from her own family issues crashes on the colony, Kara's burgeoning philosophy of "helping without harming" is put to the test. It's tons of emotional baggage. It's a lot of talking. It's Future State.

Future State: Superman / Wonder Woman #1 Review

Gods and Monsters

Written By: Dan Watters
Art By: Leila Del Duca
Colors By: Nick Filardi
Letters By: Tom Napolitano
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: January 5, 2020

Future State: Superman / Wonder Woman #1 brings the future namesakes together to fight a visit from Solaris... but not exactly. Despite this comic being billed as a team-up story, the two characters barely interact with each other besides two mildly tense conversations. Each character has their own problems to deal with regarding the Sun (it gets a complicated) and each go about dealing with their problems in their own way. It's a disjointed story. It's a book with some rough art. It's Future State.
