Best DC Comics Covers of the Week: March 21, 2018

Revenge of the B-List

It was another swell week for comics, and an even sweller week for comic book covers! In quantity, that is. I struggled to come up with this list, but provided DC publishes five or more covers in a given week, I'll always be able to come up with one! Whether I actually get around to it or not is a different story.

Super Sons #14
Jorge Jimenez
Well, you've got a dialogue balloon on a cover, that always grabs my attention. Really, it's the shape of the black spaces, formed by the shadows and Damien and his momma coming up from below, highlighting Superboy against the garishly-colored logo. It looks cool, is what I'm saying. Terrific color work.

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #5 variant
Kevin Eastman
I am of a generation that was a little too old to enjoin fully with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon/toy/feature film explosion of the late 1980s/early 90s, but even I have to admit that seeing all of these wild characters on one cover, all drawn by Kevin Eastman, looks pretty bad-ass.

Nightwing #41 variant
Yasmine Putri
It's like a Batman cover, but with more yellow than usual in it.

Batwoman #13 variant
Lee Bermejo
You can always count on Batwoman to bring some two-tone goodness. It's almost a lay-up, but when a cover looks good, it looks good.

The Brave and the Bold #2
Liam Sharp
Cheese and fucking rice, Liam Sharp is pouring every bit of himself into this book, and it shows. This cover is almost too busy, but it's well-balanced and amazingly rendered. Let's have this on a saleable print, yeah?
