Let's head off to Earth-X to check in on our Freedom Fighters now that they've successfully awakened Uncle Sam to join their fight to take back the world from the Ratzi menace.  In our previous issue it looked like everything was going according to plan, the Freedom Fighters were winning battle after battle, letting the people of America that the notion of A Dream was still possible, but what our heroes didn't know is that Adolf Hitler Jr. was about to release the Reich's most powerful weapon....... The Overman.  Let's jump into this issue and see if the Freedom Fighters are enough to take on a Nazi loving Superman or if this is the end for freedom.  Let's check it out.

Right off the bat I want to tell everyone here how excited that I am that this issue tells us that it is indeed in continuity with The Multiversity: The Mastermen and what we got out of that story.  What I need more of now, is what happened from then to now since Uncle Sam doesn't seem to remember the events of when he was awakened for that story.........Maybe it's because all of Metropolis was destroyed in that story and was a result of the Freedom Fighters themselves.

Besides that though, this is an amazing, action-packed issue that puts our heroes up against Overman and not only that but deepens the history of Earth-X in how Overman is portrayed in this issue.  It's a bit of twist that I don't want to reveal here, you know, SPOILERS and all that, but it was a hell of a surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed and might add to the Overman part of the story for the second half of this Maxi-Series.

All in all, we are given some fantastic art that is driving this action oriented story forward and the story itself is opening up all kinds of things for Earth-X which I can't wait to read more about in the upcoming months.  This is one of my favorite series that DC Comics is putting out right now and this issue did little to sway that as it continues to open up the story and keep me at the edge of my seat as I read each and every issue.  This is a great middle to our story and it gives our Freedom Fighters a greater threat to deal with as they try to bring back the American Dream.

Bits and Pieces:

Amazing art and story, where the action is complemented by an issue that not only pushes the Earth-X continuity forward, but ties into The Multiversity: Mastermen in a way that makes this a wonderful read, while also allowing more secrets to be revealed going forward.  This is definitely one of the best books on the market right now.

9/10
