Let's head back to Naomi's homeworld, where previously we saw the Justice League make their way there to shut down a portal from that world to Earth and maybe along the line, stop any invading force that might be with the big bad, Brutus who previously invaded our world. There's just one problem...... For whatever reason, our Justice League's powers aren't working right.... or working too well... Really, it just took our heavy hitters out of the game and made Naomi's hands start disappearing for whatever reason. Let's jump into this issue and see if we can get a handle on what's going on and see our heroes complete their mission.

For this issue of Justice League, we seem to have even fewer answers than we did in the previous issue because even though Superman and Black Adam are pretty much smacked down out of the fight because of how strange their powers are behaving, this issue really just is a fight scene between our heroes and Brutus and the only bit of new information we get is the idea that Flash screwed up his calculations for how he sent the rest of his team to Naomi's birth world.

Now, does that explain just why our heroes were separated when they first came to this Earth or maybe why their powers are acting funny....... or why Naomi's damn hands and now feet are disappearing like Marty McFly in Back to the Future... I don't know, but I do know that Brutus isn't the Justice League's only problem anymore but we also get Hippolyta and Flash joining the fight so maybe that evens things out...... maybe. Beyond the Justice League, we see our JLD characters trying to catch up to Merlin but like previously, our medieval wizard is staying one step ahead of our heroes but the revelations about characters and our journey to get to what's next continues to make this backup story more important and just all around more fun than our main story.

All in all, both our backup and...... frontup have amazing art that is just a joy to look at but if you're looking for substance, the small page count of Justice League Dark does way more than the primary story of this series and it's a shame every time that happens but I'm still happy that it's happening simply because it makes this series worth picking up in my mind because of its inclusion. That being said, you won't get much of a progression in my mind from the Justice League story but you will get a pretty fight scene and if you're into that and the continued slow exploration of Naomi then this is right up your alley. I just really hope that the progression of this series picks up and that there's actually something to learn about this world and our new young hero at the end of the day and that we're just not getting strung along.

Bits and Pieces:

We've got amazing art in both our stories, but like previously JLD's backup is the reason to be here in my mind as it's setting up what feels like one hell of a story while revealing some secrets along the way. Justice League is just throwing a fight at us with characters acting strange with no real reason. Hopefully, that changes as we continue but right now the Justice League story isn't doing much for me.

6.5/10
