Is It Good?

Titans United: Bloodpact #3 is a surprisingly solid, action-packed continuation of Cavan Scott's story, and it's possibly the best Titans-related comic available right now. Of course, "best" is relative, but if you need a Titans fix, you're going to be satisfied with this issue.

When last we left the team, Dick/Batman shook off the haze of his new reality and started to remember how life was supposed to be. Just when the team, with the help of Jinx and Psimon, started to come together, the Confessor General arrived to lay down a hefty smackdown. The Confessor General, in this case, is a mind-warped Starfire.

Now, we catch up with the battle in progress. Some characters die, and others are redeemed, but the battle ends with a little ray of hope. Scott lays out the battle well with twists, turns, and a respectable amount of emotion, and Meyers brings the battle to life with plenty of energy and movement.

Not ones to sit on their laurels, Brother Blood and Mother Mayhem receive word that the Titans are finding each other. Scott gives readers a fresh look at how the Mother/Son team fare in a new reality, and more importantly, we get a look at what Raven has been up to this whole time. Scott builds out this warped reality and elevates the stakes by showing how and why Raven holds sway over the world.

As a bonus, Scott shakes off Tim's bizarre ignorance noted in the previous issues. Tim seemed to not get before now that he's stuck in an alternate reality, but Tim is on board with this issue. The story is free to move more smoothly without Tim's misplaced questions getting in the way.

Bits and Pieces:

Titans United: Bloodpact #3 is a solid entry in the series that improves on the previous issues with more action, emotion, and essential revelations that move the story forward. This is the best Titans title around right now.
