Next to the Jean Grey series, Generation X was a series I had a lot of interest in. I’ve always been attracted to the weirder mutants who have no place. But a few issues in I’m not loving the series yet, although optimistic it’ll build the foundation and take off. Let's waste no time and get into it.

Nothin’ Suits Me Like My Suit

This has been a tough book to gage how people feel about because of its many connections to past Spider-Man lore and most recently the Clone Conspiracy. Therefore if you have no connection to past or current Spider-Man related events I wonder if you find any enjoyment in this title at all? In the meantime for someone like myself who has a history with the character, and read all of Clone Conspiracy, I find it to be an interesting title highlighting a reluctant hero’s current struggle with identify. Let’s see what Ben Reilly the Scarlet Spider continues to be up to in Las Vegas, with issue three hitting stands, this week.

We all knew this series was coming even before it was announced. The Defenders Netflix show was announced a while ago and of course there is going to be a comic for The Defenders at the same time. The creative team is big too. Whether you are a Brian Michael Bendis fan or not, he’s definitely one of the biggest names at Marvel and Marquez always makes incredible art. However, the last time these two were together was last summer when they were making the Civil War II crossover book which was a hot pile of garbage. However, this series may exist on a smaller scale which is where Bendis usually finds success. Let’s just jump right in and find out.

The Slowest Burn

Well here we go again with another new issue of Secret Empire back on comic shelves fighting for your consumer dollars. Full disclosure, this series is losing me faster than I imagined it would, primarily because the creative team rarely provides readers a glimpse of things going on in a Hydra run America in the actual event title itself. Instead this book has instead choose to focus on the various fractions and groups vying for different goals, arguing politics, stuck doing the same things since the series has begun and clarified each groups positions. So does issue four finally show us the progress I’ve been longing for, let’s find out.
