While the Tournament of Lazarus has come to an end, it's time to go back before it began for our Robin Annual, where we'll see some background on some of our favorite and not-so-favorite fighters. Let's jump into this issue and see what's going on with Flatline, The Drenched, Ravager, and Connor Hawke..... and some others but these are my favorites and also, let's get some possible information about the mystery of Respawn. Let's check it out.

This Annual takes place before issue #6 of Robin, which means we're taking place right before the tournament begins and in this time, where Damian Wayne was trying to get as much information about the League of Lazarus as he could, not to mention, trying to figure out why it looked like the League of Assassins were trading Mother Soul important books in the cover of night, Damian apparently also used this time to get some information on his fellow combatants and we use this issue to get a deep look into the background of Flatline, which I found fun and interesting because while we had a basic understanding of the character previously, this Annual lays a lot out for you so that you can properly understand the character, also, it leads me to loving her more and hoping that Damian and her continue to pair up after this tournament is completely donezo and we move on to bigger and better things.

Flatline's backup is the majority of this Annual and a few other fighters are relegated to simple page descriptions of them, which is unfortunate because it does come off as filler for how little you learn about them but that being said, our background on Ravager, which leads hopefully to a background on Respawn came off really interesting and while the info on Connor Hawke was limited, I still found it pretty cool........ not to mention the idea that the Drenched, an Atlantean/Trench hybrid sounds amazing going forward in some capacity.

All in all, a lot is going on in this Robin Annual, even if some of the information is limited. Yeah, the information on the Drenched, XXL, and Black Swan isn't much, but they're not who everyone really cares about and the info on Flatline, Ravager, and Connor Hawke was enough for me to be satisfied and look forward to what the future brings to each one of these characters. The art is amazing throughout and I'm happy that the tournament is over and we're almost out of the League of Lazarus stuff..... maybe because I can't wait to see what we'll get out of this supporting cast of characters because they're all just as cool as Damian Wayne himself.

Bits and Pieces:

While getting background on characters months after the fact in an Annual feels weird, it was definitely appreciated here because I'm a fan of so many of the supporting cast of Robin that I'm all about seeing more of them here, especially Flatline. Some of the others, who seem to be here for filler..... not so much, but this is a great-looking book that gives us some much-needed background on some great characters.

8/10
