To say that Tini Howard’s Catwoman run has been a disappointment is an understatement, and sending Selina to jail for the murder of her lover, Valmont, has not made it better. In fact, it’s made it so much worse. The only positive thing about this arc is that it proves that Tini has never been imprisoned. The negative, however, is that it also proves she did no research on what that would be like. Usually, I wouldn’t mind because this is a comic book, but the shit going on in this book isn’t even good enough for those lower standards. A big part of this story is Selina’s cat Dutchess living in the prison duct system, delivering street flavors of ramen to her in solitary. It looks like Selina will be leaving jail soon, but even that has a laundry list of problems. Let's get onto our video review...
Bits and Pieces:
Catwoman #54 is a complete mess of unbelievable situations setting up more of the same. Most of the characters feel more like props than actual characters, and the ones that readers might know, are written out of character. Hopefully, getting Selina out of prison will help this book, but I doubt it.
3.5/10
