DC Comics Best Covers of the Week 11/15/14

Baby it's cold outside...no, I'm not quoting that famous song with questionable morals, I'm sitting here freezing my ass off! It may have to do with my children breaking almost every window in the house or that it's darn cold here on the East Coast.  My guess is it's a bit of both.  You know what's hot? The DC Covers this week.  That's what they call a segue, kiddies  I knew which one I'd give the weekly award to the minute I saw it.  However, fellow Weird Science guy, Eric, liked another cover so as we do here at our site, I went with the one I like.  As  Montell Jordan sang, "This Is How We Do It."  I really wanted to quote Sisqo's Thong Song, but I couldn't figure out how to make it fit.  Now that really feels like a challenge so here goes.  ...So as we do here at our site, I went with the one I like.  As Sisqo sang, "Baby make your booty go da na da na". Challenge conquered.  Here's the covers.

                                                                                                                                                                                                            Cover of the Week

Constantine #19 (Juan Ferreyra)

I love this cover.  Juan Ferreyra captures the essence of Constantine and his rock past.  I wonder what song he's playing.  God Save the Queen is the cliched choice, but I think it's a toss up between 1D's Best Song Ever or Starship's  We Built This City. I'm joking, of course.  We all know it's the Clash's White Man in Hammersmith. Case closed.   Eric's review for the issue is HERE.

Runners Up

New Suicide Squad #4 (Jeremy Roberts)

This is the cover that Eric voted for.  It's hard to argue with him, but I excel at that. Jeremy Roberts gets everything right...Harley Quinn, Deadshot and Black Manta kicking ass.  Every member of the Suicide Squad, right?  What, no Joker's Daughter, you say? Every Member of the Suicide Squad!  This may be my all-time favorite realistic looking Harley I've ever laid eyes on and the explosive action with the Russian backdrop is stellar.  My review for the issue is HERE

Worlds' Finest #28 (Emanuela Luppacchino and Hi Fi)

I love this for the obvious reasons.  The Trinity in all their glory.  Well, Wonder Woman and little Bruce are looking pretty glorious.  Little Clark on the other hand... Look at him, so scared with his flannel shirt on.  Little Bruce is in some kung-fu stance or maybe a bit of bare knuckle brawling look. Whatever it is, it looks so cool.  Eric's review is HERE.

Batman #36 (Greg Capullo)

Greg Capullo is such a great artist, but I never think of him as a cover artist.  That's changed now.  With so many covers not having anything to do with the issue inside, this cover plays against last month's awesome cliffhanger.  It's awesome in it's simplicity and FCO Plascencia's colors make it pop.  Just awesome.  My review for the issue is HERE.
