With the recent news of this book ending, it's easy to see that the pieces falling into place in this issue are meant to wrap the book up. With two issues left, I certainly hope that the creative team sticks their landing.

This issue just flew by. It was my quickest read of the week, and that's not always a good thing. Despite being fast-moving it was remarkably unexciting, and the cliffhanger stopped me in my tracks as I thought it was a very clunky way to end an issue.

We pick up right where the last issue left off, with new villain Bolt holding Ernie hostage in an attempt to threaten Derek. Bolt is also pretty unremarkable and reads like a lot of the villains that Derek has faced over the course of this series. The fact that his powers are a slight variation of Derek's doesn't help make him more interesting or intimidating. He's generally a bore and I get the sense that he's going to come back into play in the next two issues.

Kenneth Rocafort's art is normally fantastic and it was the biggest strength of this issue. His representation of a lot of these characters is so good and the way he lays out pages continues to feel fresh. Dan Brown's colours complement his style very well.

Bits and Pieces:

This didn't terribly impress me. While I have faith that the team will stick the landing and end the series right, this didn't do anything to give me hope. The artwork was strong, however.

5.8/10
