Superman: Son of Kal-El #15 gives the reader the final push against Henry Bendix and his dictatorship of Gamorra is on and Jon Kent and his Revolutionary friends are doing their damnedest to end this fight without bloodshed. It's just too bad that Henry Bendix is all too willing to use his puppet Post-Human army to their mortal end. That's where things get most disturbing because now that Henry Bendix knows that Superman's boyfriend Jay Nakamura is one of the team that's trying to take him down, Bendix transformed Jay's mother into a Post Human monster and intends to set his newest creation against her son. Let's jump into this issue and see how our heroes will end this conflict or if Henry Bendix gets the last laugh. Let's check it out.

Superman: Son of Kal-El #15 continues the fight and the battle is on and Jon Kent is going to have to be his most Superman self in this issue to get the job done because at every turn it looks like Henry Bendix has made sure that if any of his grip of power loosens, he's willing to let his people die to pay the price and that means that Jon Kent is going to have to use that big brain of his to work around the problem and use his people to their fullest to make sure that no one dies in this incursion. This aspect of the book is really well done and I only wish that there was more of it because while seeing Jon overcome is cool, it does seem to go by really fast for a nationwide overthrow.  

With that though, we do have Jon looking great in this issue, not to mention the return of Lex Luthor to make sure his presence in this book is felt and the idea that he'll return to be the big bad at some point in the future. Where I was praising the conflict itself and how our hero overcomes it, the parts of this book that might shine the greatest are the individual character moments and where Jon and Jay get to show their love for one another, not to mention that something is happening to Jon here and we're all going to have to wait and see what this means and what happens next for our newest Superman.

All in all, we're fifteen issues in, and our first storyline is finally over we had some moments with some Post Humans battling Jon and even showing them off as the new heroes that the world needs, not to mention Henry Bendix trying to defame Jon, it still seemed like these moments were far and few between and the so-called "Rising" that was the threat of the entire story just seemed to fall flat, and I have no idea why. Overall, this was a decent conclusion to our story, though, even though I would have liked and it would have made sense for this incursion to be longer or at least feel bigger than it was. I'm still happy with it overall because the characters in this book shined, and Henry Bendix got what was coming to him..... Oh, and Lex continues to show why he is the superior villain in the DC Universe, and you gotta love that. The art is great throughout, and I loved the victory kiss at the end..... I just wish that someone would have said something about how they were going to change Jay's mother back from being a monster because goddamn, she is monstrous.  

Bits and Pieces:

Superman: Son of Kal-El #15 left me wishing that the threat of the Rising would have been bigger or that I would have understood what the Rising really was, this conclusion to our story came off satisfying enough, even though I wish we would have had more. The art was great though and I loved the character moments. Also, I am highly invested in some new developments that are happening with Jon in this issue.
