There are a couple of things I know after reading the last few issues of Wonder Woman - “Mousman knows” and “Mice have Ears.” The ears thing is self-explanatory, but what does Mouseman know? Well, he certainly knows how to annoy the hell out of me! Why does Tom King keep using it? I’m starting to think he just wants to piss me off. If that’s the case… mission accomplished! I was going to joke around and suggest that we all treat it as a drinking game and take a shot every time we get the “Mouseman Knows” dialogue, but I would no doubt have blood on my hands, so don’t do it!
Tom King’s writing here is the definition of style over substance. The “Mousman knows” refrain is clearly meant to be chilling, clever, or at least thematically resonant. Instead, it lands with all the grace of a punch to the face. It doesn’t deepen the conflict. It doesn’t unlock a mystery. It doesn’t even sound particularly ominous. It’s just there — over and over again — and over and over again. And yes, Mousman knows.

But what the story doesn’t know is how to move forward. Diana, once again, is more spectator than hero in her own series. Instead of leaning into her compassion, power, or sense of justice, the issue grinds its gears in repetition, chewing up space that could have been spent actually making Wonder Woman shine. This is decompression at its worst: a whole comic that could have been summarized as “Mousman knows…and Diana still doesn’t get to do much.

Visually, the book looks really good, but without a ton going on, it seems wasted. That’s pretty much the common theme of just about every Tom King book, but especially this Wonder Woman book that almost always looks better than it reads.

Bits and Pieces:

Wonder Woman #24 tries to build tension through repetition, but instead of clever or haunting, the “Mousman knows” dialogue is way more annoying than thought provoking. The issue is padded, the pacing nonexistent, and after the over-long and utterly disappointing Sovereign story, this book needs a change stat! Wonder Woman deserves to soar, not to play second fiddle to a gimmick that doesn’t even work. At this point, the only thing clear is that Mousman, and Tom King, knows how to ruin a comic.

  3. There are games in the arcade genre that keep players captivated due to their fast-paced action, challenging levels, and never-ending thrills. One such experience is space waves.

  4. Hi all! Logging in to go to this site was surprisingly easy. Australia has lots of casinos that frustrate with slow loading times, but this one worked perfectly. Slots, roulette, and blackjack all ran smoothly. Even my tiny wins made me chuckle, and I found myself sneaking in short sessions during breaks just to enjoy the streaks. The interface is simple, so I can focus on playing instead of fiddling with menus or ads.
