Smallville: Alien #8 Review

Written by: Bryan Q. Miller
Art by: Edgar Salazar
Cover Price: $0.99
Release Date: February 7, 2014

Alien: part 8 of 12

Lois and Nightwing investigate "Dave's" death and fight some punks while discussing boy troubles.  Otis worries about Lex, keeps secrets and never drinks on the job.  Lex and Clarke investigate the spaceship in Russia, witness the Multiverse and start an awesome fight.

Smallville has been so good.  Why?  The action and story are great, but what sticks out most are the character moments. This issue has some of the best in the series.  We get Lois giving Barbara relationship advice...while they are kicking total ass.  Then we see the dedication of Otis as well as his hilarious pic of Lex on his cell phone.  Finally, we get Clark and Lex working together trying to figure out the Alien menace and what it means to Earth.  Bryan Q. Miller makes each character so unique and interesting while also making them fit perfectly into the Smallville Universe.

The art of Edgar Salazar has been great the whole series and this issue is no exception.  He really shines in the big action scene with Babs and Lois.

 Bits and Pieces:

Smallville: Alien #8 is a great book with great character moments that make Miller's books so good.  Add Salazar's stellar art and you get a must buy.

9.5/10
