Five Questions With...Jimmy Palmiotti

We have been kicking around the idea of interviewing our favorite DC Comic creators, but since Eric and myself are extremely shy and awkward, we came up with the idea of Five Questions With...  I didn't know when we would get around to doing it, but I knew the first one had to be with Jimmy Palmiotti.  He is one of the most prolific writers around and an all around nice guy to boot.  After we got past our different taste in movies (Jimmy has taste, We do not), this is what we ended up with.  Enjoy.

1. What character(s) have you always wanted to write, but haven't yet?

I would like to write the entire Legion of Superheroes from scratch. Yup, all of them.

2. Who could eat more chicken wings, You or Justin Gray?

Justin is younger and in better shape, so I think he would be more likely to put a bigger dent in a pile of wings than I. Also, not the biggest fan of chicken wings unless I am stuck in a bar.

3. Best T.V Character Catchphrase of All-Time?

The kid in me thinks “ Danger Will Robinson” the adult thinks “ D’oh “ from the Simpsons.

4. What was your favorite job outside of comics?

Teaching arts & crafts at a summer camp to a few hundred children. I loved being able to show kids how to create things

5. Does Amanda (Conner) indeed rant a lot?

she does at home but doesn't really do it online since she spends a lot of her time on the drawing board and traveling with me. Her internet attention span can get her in deep trouble, so she stays away from it as best she can. She hardly even answers e-mails.

.

Bonus Question: Wink at me if sending Jonah Hex into the future was an editorial decision.

Totally ours, and glad we did it. It set up and changed his life forever.

I'd like to thank Jimmy for participating in our first (rough) attempt at this.  Please check out paperfilms.com for all sorts of great stuff he's working on including the new Sex and Violence Vol. 2 Kickstarter.  Also, don't forget this past week's awesome All Star Western #34 series finale and Star Spangled War Stories Featuring G.I. Zombie #2.  Seriously, anytime you see his name, just buy it because it's bound to be good.  See you next time.
