The secret and not so secret organizations of the DCU are going down and apparently, Leviathan is involved, but it will take our Man of Steel to figure out if that's actually the case or not.  Let's jump into this issue and see if Superman can get to the bottom of all of this and possibly stop this monster-man from exploding/imploding anymore government buildings.  Let's check it out.

While I'd like to tell you that this issue gives us all the answers to what this being that is causing all of the trouble going on and who seems to be a part of Leviathan....... or going by the name Leviathan itself........ what we get instead is Superman playing catch up to everything we've seen so far.  That's right, even though you saw what happened to Amanda Waller and Samuel Lane in the last issue, you get to see it again here.  Even though you saw the DEO building disappear in a blue glow......... you get to see Superman check out the rubble for himself......... and somehow know that Adam Strange was there, which was odd.  The only bit of anything new you really get to see in this issue is that The Question seems to be involved, but even with that, it seems that his involvement is nothing more than sitting around and wondering what's going on.

While the art team comes in and totally knocks this issue out of the park, the story leaves a lot to be desired as it just treads water to get us to our cliffhanger, which will hopefully get Superman and Lois in the know about what's going on in the world and who's actually behind it.  Even that feels weird though as Gold Kryptonite is involved and it somehow has a strange affect on our hero that isn't the usual effect of this version of Kryptonite.......... it's never addressed though so I guess we just have to go with it.

All in all, this is a very disappointing installment of this arc, where we see Superman fly around to different places, but really accomplishes nothing, while Lois is depicted as just being the worst and the dialog all around was pretty cringe-worthy.  Maybe if you've been wanting to see more of the new Fortress of Solitude or if you missed last issue you could really get into this issue, but besides that, there's really nothing new here except for the new direction to get information that only comes at the end of the book.

Bits and Pieces:

If you read last issue......... Well, you're really not missing anything here except for the cliffhanger.  With that said though, you do get excellent art throughout the issue, it's just you don't get any new story and that's pretty damn frustrating for a monthly title.

5/10
