It's back to business in Gotham City now that Jason Todd has taken care of the Iceberg Lounge's European connections in the previous issue, but little does Jason know, the All-Caste are after him and maybe coming back to Gotham wasn't the best plan for him.  Let's jump into this issue and see if Red Hood can handle himself and if we'll ever find out who this Wingman actually is...... Let's check it out.

While this plot of Jason returning to Gotham and taking over the Iceberg Lounge has been an odd one in my mind, which I've still been enjoying for the most part, this issue decides to ramp up the character development in our favorite ant-hero by making him into a serious jerk out of nowhere.  I don't know if running a business has taken its toll on Jason Todd or what, but he's treating Isabel, Wingman and Suzie Su like shit this issue and it kind of seems out of nowhere for what we've seen of the character since this story started.

Speaking of out-of-nowhere, Wingman has been with Jason Todd ever since he showed up and started talking about how Batman isn't doing things right in Gotham and that Jason needs to come back and fix things......... with that, we've seen Jason take over the Iceberg Lounge and as for Wingman....... we still know nothing and it's getting a bit frustrating, especially since Wingman even brings up the idea that Jason's never asked him who he is.  It's odd and I'm starting to think that there really isn't an answer.  Kind of like the All-Caste coming after Jason out of nowhere.  Here we see Essence finally make her way to our title character and while the fight between the two is pretty cool, it doesn't do much for me because the ending of it is based on something that we never knew previously.

All in all, the cliffhanger to this issue was great and I can't wait to see what happens next, but as for this issue, I loved the art besides for Isabel in the beginning, but the story wasn't doing much for me besides for making Jason a real jerk out of nowhere, that led to a fight that felt off in the long run.  I love this character and always want to see what he's going to do, but maybe we spent too much time at the Casino and it's time to do something different with Jason Todd because he's barely likeable in this issue.

Bits and Pieces:

While the art remains strong this issue, the story just kind of moves from place to place, where Jason looks more and more like a jerk.  This would be fine if it felt set up, but this feels out of nowhere and only leads to a fight that was fun, but a little too convenient in the end.  I'm all about the cliffhanger though and can't wait to see what happens in the next issue.

6/10

The reasons that Ducra sent Essence to take care of Jason is the fact that Jason Killed Ducra’s Son and Essence Brother 2 issues back, and Jason needs his memory restored, and can they think they see the road Jason is heading down. But due to the end of the fight which I couldn’t get enough of😝, Essence’s Blade proves Jason is Still good.
Jason didn’t treat Suzie or Isabel like crap either, when you read what he thinks of them he says that he’s come to care for them.
As for your beef with Wingman in this story Eric, there’s clearly a long game Lobdell is playing with him. Personally I think he’s Solitary. Solitary’s goal for Jason was to turn him into a Prince Of Gotham. And since Jason has met the guy he has done nothing but takeover Penguins Territory, Put Bruce Wayne on Blast revealing him self to the public that the Long Thought Dead son of Bruce Wayne is alive, put Batman in his place telling him he’d destroy him if he try’s to put him away. Remember Solitary put a Kryptonian on his ass making Smarty-Pants Bizzaro forget he was looking for Solitary. His power is perception, So Jason could look at Solitary in the face and completely see someone else,...maybe a wingman whispering in his ear that Batman is doing things wrong, maybe you can do them right. Sorry for the Rant America’s Sweetheart but this a better issue than one point above a FU 5.

Remember...an f u 5 isnt a real 5. An f u 5 is the worse score you can give, it's not a regular 5.

I guess your right Jim, the FU is reserved for those who actively try to ruin a story, but you know I gotta Represent for all the “Hoodies” out there, and Eric has been a little to caught up the Wingman part of the story in his reviews the couple of months.

Lol🤣😏who are we kidding he’d love to be in the All-Caste, it’s magic that doesn’t need to be spoken backwards or Rhymein & Stealin
