It's back to the voyeuristic adventures of Tempus Fuginaut as he checks in on different worlds in the Dark Multiverse.  This time though, the Fuge has his eyes set on a inappropriate relationship between an old man and a sixteen year old girl...... That's right, I'm talking about the Judas Contract and for this installment we're going to see how things played out different with Tara Markov when she betrayed the Teen Titans to Deathstroke.  Let's jump into this and see if we can have our minds blown by this new world of darkness and wonder.

For this issue of Tales From The Dark Multiverse we see a world that was created by Dick Grayson deciding to stay on the Teen Titans and how this quick change of mind led to Tara Markov seeing herself as more than just the lover/protege of Slade Wilson, which completely throws the Judas Contract aside so that she can be the most powerful being in the world.

I was looking forward to this issue because the idea of someone surviving and then that moment leading to something worse really intrigues me...... especially after the great Infinite Crisis issue of this series, but what we get here is a story where Tara pretty much just goes insane earlier than she did in the Judas Contract and then spends the entire issue killing the Teen Titans.  Maybe big Terra fans will find this appealing, but for the most part it just came off a bit boring and this issue didn't really seem to build any kind of world around what was going on.  Hell, if you want to nitpick too it seems that this kind of goes against the 2008 story, DC Universe: The Last Will and Testament, but with this simply being from the Judas Contract I guess we can look beyond that.  Really though, this story just shows you Terra becoming crazy earlier than in the Judas Contract and her having more control of her powers....... and the crazy.

All in all, this feels like a weak installment to this "Tales" series because Robin deciding to stay with the Teen Titans seems like a story all its own and the way it was depicted here came off as out of nowhere for this to be the catalyst for Tara Markov going insane quicker than she did in the original story.  Even with that, this is just Terra going crazy and killing everyone and while some death and destruction would be warranted and even enjoyed in a story like this, when it's all you have you realize that there really wasn't much here to begin with.  As for the art, that too came off a little weak at points in my mind and at the end of the day I was just looking for more all around here because by the time it was done I just felt "meh".

Bits and Pieces:

With this final chapter (for now) we see this series come to an end on a whimper in my mind, where the world building doesn't quite stack up with what we've gotten recently and all this really had going for it was Terra going crazier than she originally did, earlier and with a bit more control.  The art was alright, but didn't impress me overall and by the end I was just hoping for a little more throughout this entire issue.

5.3/10

  1. What do you mean Dick Grayson deciding to stay with the Titans being different? In the original story he made it clear he wasn't leaving the Titans just giving up being Robin.

The other thing is even if Terra took over the planet if you know your Titans history wouldn't Trigon still come along and overthrow her and conquer the earth himself without Raven and the Titans to stop him?

    1. I meant that in this story he decided to stay in a leadership role, where originally he gave Donna the role of leader until he discovered who he wanted to be. As for Trigon, yeah, with Raven dying he's totally coming and killing everyone.

  2. Particularly with all the toys that he has to his removal. Harvey Dent played by Aaron Eckhart plays a certain investigator that appear to not be influenced by anything. 123movies 2020 website
