Batman / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Team Up this November

In a story that sounds too good (or crazy) to be true, DC Comics and IDW have announced that a Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle crossover miniseries will be hitting the shelves this November. The six-issue monthly will be written by James Tynion IV (who is suddenly getting a whole lot busier) with art by Freddie E. Williams II.

The story is described as such:

In the ongoing power struggle between the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, General Krang, and the Foot Clan, allegiances have shifted and the battle lines have been drawn. Krang concocts a plan to rid himself of both the Turtles and Shredder by transporting them to another dimension, where they land in the dark and dangerous streets of Gotham City. It isn't long before they encounter Gotham's most famous resident, Batman.  The Caped Crusader may be their only hope of overcoming their enemies and getting back home. But not before they encounter a whole cast of Gotham's most infamous rogues.

This news has me pretty excited.  I loved the He-Man/DC Universe crossover from a while back and enjoyed the Green Lantern/Star Trek book released this week.  These crossovers are when I can kick back, forget about crazy things like continuity and sanity and enjoy myself for just a little bit.  I am a miserable man, so a little bit of enjoyment goes a long, long way.

James Tynion said, "I’ve been extremely luck to spend so much time working in Gotham City, but it’s always a thrill to see the world of Batman through new eyes.  Taking the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on a Gotham adventure is a fanboy dream come true."

I can't wait until November!
