Weird Science DC Comics Presents...Marvel Mondays?!?

That's right, folks!  Starting this Monday (June 27th), the Weird Science Get Fresh Crew will devote every single  Monday to reviewing Marvel Comics.  Why would we do such a thing?  Here are a list of reasons...

  • We are insane
  • Most of us are Marvel fans as well as loving DC Comics
  • There is a severe lack of Bloodsport references in the current Marvel reviews
  • There is a severe lack of curse words in the current Marvel reviews
  • There is just a severe lack of current Marvel reviews
  • We want to give Marvel fans the chance to yell at Eric
  • We are insane

After reading those reasons, I'm sure that you would agree that we really have no other choice but to do this.  Stay tuned to find out when and if this means we will start doing a weekly 7+ hour Marvel Podcast.  See you on Monday!

    2. Understandable. I am definitely looking forward to the reviews though. Can't wait to see what you guys think about my favorite Marvels comics. Hopefully, they will go well.

    3. The reviews in general that is. Not just my favorite Marvel comics. (Freaking typos!)

  3. This was accomplished by kidnapping Jim and feeding him smores until he agreed to our demands.

  4. Maybe your reviews will help me get over my disdain for the fact that we are about to be going into another sort of relaunch(or whatever it is) with Marvel Now. I've actually been liking the bits of Miles, Ms Marvel and Nova in Avengers and one of the big solicits is them leaving? We barely got them in, now we're supposed to care that they're leaving it? Uggggh

    1. It's a soft relaunch. Basically they are changing some stuff up and mixing up some of the creative teams. I'm not a fan of the decision either but at least they aren't doing a hard relaunch.

    2. I'll be fine with it as long is it doesn't launch a whole other renumbering. This soon doesn't make too much sense on a lot of the books, but they can't resist those number 1 numbers.

Full disclosure: I don't know if they've said whether it will be new number 1's or not.

    3. As far as my understanding, there will not be a renumbering. (Though that could change.) This is more like when we got the DCYOU after the New 52, rather than a Rebirth-esque thing. Like I said, they are just changing some of the team compositions and new creative teams will be put on some of the books

  5. Just for curiosity sake, What are some titles that you and Eric are intrested in?

    1. Sorry Anthony, just saw this. I am just jumping into a bunch of things and seeing how it goes. I actually am interested in some Spider-Man stuff, but that's taken so I am just going to be grabbing and reviewing things kind of randomly. So far, I love Black Widow and Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur...I also am having fun reading Drax.

    2. Sorry, somehow I missed this too. Really, I'm looking to dive back into some Spider-Man since that was my go to book as a kid and even right before we started this site and so far I really dig The Mighty Thor, which was a surprise to me because I never latched onto that character growing up. Like Jim, I'm just reviewing books that people hadn't already called "dibs" on and taking it one week at a time.
