All things must come to an end and this fun, bright, and silly mini-series has. The Justice League must face off against an army of Paredemons led by Darkseid.

When it comes to positives with this issue, all the credit goes to the creative team. Art Baltazar’s style both writing and in art was my favorite part of this series. I was never reading this series for the story. I just wanted to have fun and not read something that had twists or some sort of multiverse shattering crisis. I get plenty of that with all the current “Rebirth” stuff.

This issue had balls to the wall action and with Baltazar’s awesome cartoon art style this book was just a blast. I wished they made these character designs into action figures so that I can go broke between them and Funko’s.

What made me enjoy the series so much, is that I don’t feel uncomfortable introducing this to my five-year-old son. I’ve been wanting to read comics to him for some time but most comics make it difficult to do that. This story is a tribute to how fun and innocent can be and still be great. Plus, this book had some real funny jokes, I have no idea why I found the Mr. Freeze joke funny but maybe I am not the only one.

Bits and Pieces:

Although I think this issue could have benefitted with one more issue. The quick finish didn’t bother me much because the good guys won and the bad guys are locked up and that’s how it should be.

8.5/10

  1. My favorite comic this week. Good review, Mark!
Not my favorite issue of the series, but it's nice that SOMEONE at DC can give us a real ending ("Death of Hawkman" and Scott Snyder, I'm looking at you). They need another volume of this, ASAP. That's the summer event I want!
