In my mind, getting to write Adventures of Superman must be a blast.  The opportunity to write fun little Superman stories with your favorite villains seems like a dream come true.  Christos Gage gets two of Superman's funniest villains for one story...Bizarro and Toyman.

The story starts with Superman battling Bizarro over Metropolis with the usual funny Bizarro-opposite dialogue.  Superman finally realizes he should think outside the box and defeats Bizarro in a pretty comical way.  He then enlists Dr. Hamilton to help Bizarro become "normal" by employing some new scientific techniques.

Superman is then called away as a giant robot is destroying downtown Metropolis.  He quickly realizes the Toyman is at work and tries to get too him.  Unfortunately, it's a trap and just when it looks like Superman is doomed, he is saved by...Bizarro!  A Bizarro that is unlike one we've ever seen.  Did the Dr. work his magic?  We'll have to wait until part two.

Christos Gage has fun with this story and so did I.  I'm a big fan of the pre-New 52 Bizarro and that's what we get here.  I know Superman means well wanting to change him, but I love him just the way he is.  I know this change won't stick since the title is a take on "Flowers for Algernon", but I'm hoping for a fun ride.

Bits and Pieces:

Adventures of Superman #25 is a good start to Christos Gage's three-part arc.  Bizarro is always fun and throw in Toymaker and you have a winner.  The twist at the end is sure to be temporary but should be interesting while it lasts.
