We've got everything and the kitchen sink being thrown at us in this Justice League series and while we're dealing with a pretty cool concept that's cosmic and spans not only all of time, but the multiverse itself, it's lacking in the answers department right now and that's a bit frustrating for a guy who's not the sharpest pencil in the box........... Yeah, I'm a dummy and I don't need my books pointing that out to me all the time.  Hopefully, we'll get the answers we're looking for with the seven hidden forces of the Universe, the ancient Legionnaires club.......... and really, just about everything.  Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

Well, we don't learn much this issue and the stuff we do learn about....... like Flash accessing the Still Force to shut Umbrax down...... Well, while it's pretty intense and looks amazing, I still don't understand the correlation between the two or why Flash can just access it out of nowhere.  That's the main focus of this issue and really, shutting down the Legion of Doom's plan to control The Totality.

I will give this issue this though, if you're looking for some really cool moments of our heroes being heroes against cosmic threats and their greatest enemies then look no further because this issue is chock of that, it's just the details that I'm failing to see and the worst part about that is it seems like we're moving on from our first two hidden forces and are on our way to check out the rest.  I may be wrong here, but the feeling I get is that we're having a "been there done that" situation with the UltraViolet Spectrum and The Still Force and I'm still stuck in the back seat asking "Are we there yet?" because I'm still confused about what these things actually are and how they work separately and in tandem.

All in all, though, we do have some really awesome moments in this issue and some excellent art the whole way through, which gets me on board for whatever comes next.  I just hope that my confusion is laid to rest and we have some answers down the line because there are a whole lot more questions starting with this issue.  There was one part of the issue where Barry was talking and he said "The White Martians in that base, the seven powers, even you, Kendra, the lives you lived.  it's like one big design but it felt so....... angry." and I'm starting to wonder if I'm the design or if the design is out of the loop like I am and that's the reason it feels so angry.  I don't know, but if you've picked up on anything from this review so far, I hope that it's that you know that I'd like to know.

Bits and Pieces:

While you continue to get some awesome over the top super heroics in this issue, the answers to all our questions continue to stay out of sight, while also introducing some new questions to the pile.  Thankfully, some awesome art and some epic situations calm most of my frustrations down and keep me on board this Justice League trolley.  Things will need to become a bit more transparent as the series continues though because being dark and mysterious will only take you so far.

  1. Still to many unknowns for my liking. I want to know what the still force can do, but it vague and doesn't make sense. How does making things Still transport them back to where they were before. I can see that the nth metal still has the same powers a before except the glowing green wing thing, that's new. I thought John Ultra Violet ring was branded to him. So why and how does he get back his destroyed Green Ring. And where the Hell did Hawkgirl pull that sword from. I appreciated actually seeing Batman in an Armor that also acted as a full-body cast, because damn did he get F@cked Last issue. Art is Amazing as always, but we all know Snyder can write a more clear and flowing story, it's just not here.

Now for my biggest personal problem with the issue, I am a huge starman fan, my favorite dc story written ever. I have All of James Robinson's run on the one dc story that had a true finite ending at dc mainstream Continuity. How can Will Payton have the Star Rod if it was given to Star-girl, More importantly why would he need it when he is a man who is Fused to another Starman Prince Gavin. Will with a star rod is redundant because he has those power internally. I've heard rumor of Snyder bringing back Ted Knight it pisses me off. His heroic death is like an "Uncle Ben Death" it shouldn't screwed with. I'm worried for the Starman Continuity going forward, I think it is going to be broken to fit This of Justice League and Doomsday Clock and if DC ever keeps it's promise the JSA as well.

  2. This issue is like watching a firework display, looks fantastic, has loads going on but you really don't know what it was meant to say. Still those flashy things were good.

    1. No one has any idea what's going on or why things happen the way they happen in JL because we're all too stupid to keep up with the genius of Snyder's writing!
