It's time to head on back over to Earth-X so that we can get to know our new Freedom Fighters of the modern era.  That's right, freedom, democracy and all that good stuff that makes Americans all ooey gooey about our country has been taken away after the Nazi's won the Second World War and it's up to a band of new heroes to make people remember the past so that we can all have a brighter future.  Let's jump into this issue and see if Black Condor, Phantom Lady, Doll Woman and the Human Bomb can take down a Ratzi War Machine.  Let's check it out.

While normally I'm not the biggest fan of an issue that pretty much takes an entire issue only show a fight between our heroes and villains, I think for this second issue of this series that it's not the worst thing because people want to come in who have no idea who these heroes are or what their power sets are and for the most part, they want to see a show.  This issue certainly gives you that as we see our new Freedom Fighters kicking ass and taking names, while also dishing out some pretty smooth dialog between each other during the assault on Adolf Hitler Jr.'s metal monster.

Really though, besides for the idea that Americans are getting patriotic again and the idea that the America Dream can still be a thing, allowing Uncle Sam to become reborn once again, there isn't too much to say about this issue because as I said previously, it's just one big fight.  It is pretty cool though.  Now that we've seen these heroes' powers I can't wait to dive into their back story so that we can learn a little bit more about who they are now that we know what they can do and also learn how in this dark world they ever knew about Uncle Sam and the former Freedom Fighters.

All in all I love the art team on this book and they showed us what they can do in this action packed second issue. I just wish that things were a little bit more condensed in the way that we got the first issue all about the former Freedom Fighters and got this issue where we meet the new team.  This fight just seemed to go on a little too long for what we got out of it.  I'm still on board with this Freedom Fighters trolley though because besides for our big event books right now, this is probably the most interesting and different series that DC Comics is putting out right now and I hope that the momentum that I'm feeling from it doesn't start to slow down.

Bits and Pieces:

You want to see some heroes be heroes and kick a little ass?  Well, boy, do I have an issue for you.  Seriously though, we get an issue that is pretty much a big ass fight scene, which normally I'm against but as a way to showcase what our heroes can do it works pretty well.  So yeah, the story is still fun and I'm continuing to love the art.

7.8/10
