After getting his ass kicked repeatedly, that meta, (Brutus) turned tail and headed on back to where he came from and now it's time to follow him home and in the process finally get some answers about where Naomi came from because even though we're now in an Omniverse after Death Metal....... for whatever reason, it seems that Naomi's homeworld isn't a part of that and hopefully we'll figure out what that means by the end. Future State Gotham is an odd book, and I am unsure who the target audience is.  While we are heading full steam ahead towards Future State in most books, I don't know if I am interested in going back to the future here.  Plus, having it in black and white will surely throw some people off.  I am a manga fan, so that's not an issue with me, but I get the idea from this that DC is trying to grab those big sales numbers we see from things like Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia.  The problem is, there is more to it than black and white art and Jason Todd doing his best Akira impersonation.  Besides that, is this a good book worth putting down your cash on?  Let's find out...

It has been a little bit of a wait, but we once again are returning to Gotham City and the Batman series. The series has been flirting with greatness ever since Tynion took over. However, most likely due to being dragged into various crossovers, the book has staggered and now usually resides somewhere in the middle when it comes to quality. Sure, there are some neat things and storylines that intrigue, but there also doesn’t feel like that something special is here. The series just feels average and frankly, I think that is a terrible thing for the most popular character they’ve got out there. This series needs to step it up and bring us an exciting story that everyone is theorizing about and that everyone is just waiting for the next installment so they can finally figure out what’s going on. Instead, the series just sits comfortably without taking any sort of risks. That is boring. However, perhaps things will turn around this issue. Let’s jump in and find out.
