*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

We continue our Civil War II tie-ins with this issue and man I hope that it's over soon because I like reading Guardians of the Galaxy for the off the wall space adventures that these goofballs get themselves into.  This is a tie-in though so as we saw from last issue, our heroes are Earth bound and even after this event is over, it might take a bit to get back into space because Thanos has been taken by the government and if Gamora finds out about it............. Well, she'll do whatever she can to get to him and make sure that the Titan can never hurt anyone again........... after Gamora probably hurts the hell out of everyone who gets in her way.  Let's jump into this issue and see how things escalate now that our heroes have taken Captain Marvel's side in all things Ulysses.  Let's check it out.

Explain It!:

Our issue begins with Rocket telling everyone how much the Earth sucks because of all the ass backwards shit that people do and while Quill seems to get a little offended by someone talking shit on his home world........... I have to agree with Rocket.  He's spot on, people suck.  Once that's out of the way though........... It's on to some more waiting around and bitching because the Guardians of The Galaxy are apparently Captain Marvel's secret weapons and she has them sitting on their cloaked ship waiting for her signal for when Tony Stark shows up with his crew.

So yeah, we've got a shit ton of waiting around here and the worst part of all is when the battle finally commences............ We don't get to see it.  I mean, it's all over because the issue time jumps and all we get to see is their ship exploding........ and then another time jump to where it's exploding again on the ground and Rocket is freaking the fuck out.  If anything, this issue feels like something that's just out there to sell the Civil War II title because while this is a tie-in, we don't get to see anything besides for Rocket bitching and the rest of the team sitting around and waiting.  At the end of the issue though we do move forward a little bit in that our heroes apparently believe in what Captain Marvel's doing and Gamora overhearing some rescue workers talking about how the building the ship crashed into has Thanos inside......... Which is exciting as hell, but this issue was just full of nothing.

That's it for this issue of Guardians of the Galaxy and besides for Gamora finding out that Thanos is on Earth and actually within walking distance of where she is in this........... and the idea that the Guardians are stuck on Earth, there is nothing in this book that makes me think that it's worthwhile to buy.  If you're already picking up the Civil War II title, I imagine that you'll get everything that you'd want to see here in that and anyone just reading Guardians........ like me..... well, it's just worth skipping really.  The art, while as good as it normally is just doesn't excite because as you've probably learned from the rest of the review, our characters just sit around and bitch.  So yeah, this issue is just a let down.

Bits and Pieces:

After reading this issue all I could think is that its only reason for being here is for people to get curious about Civil War II because all the moments that you really get excited to see from the lead up in this is all omitted and all we're left with is our characters sitting around and bitching....... That's it.

4/10
