DC Comics Best Covers of the Week 11/1/14

October had a fifth week and you know what that means...Annuals!  It also means that there were not too many issues released last week.  Thank God because I'm not a huge fan of Annuals.  It's not that I don't enjoy reading them, it's the whole review thing that brings me down.  They are long, usually have multiple artists and I'm lazy.  That's a recipe for disaster, if you ask me.  Oh well, time stops for no man and comics stop for no site so I had to put my nose to the grindstone and...actually I'm still not done reviewing every issue I have for the week.  Remember, I'm lazy.  Well, here are the covers that I found nifty this week.  Enjoy.

Cover of the Week

Sinestro #6 (Bart Sears and Michael Atiyeh Monster Variant)

Sinestro as the Lord of Darkness from Legend?  Count me in.  While I'm not the biggest fan of the 1985 Tom Cruise pic, I loved Tim Curry as the evilest of villains.  He wanted to kill a Unicorn and the Sun.  Those are some pretty evil goals, if you ask me.  Now, if only Sinestro would say, "There shall never be another dawn!" in the issue the circle would be complete.  Eric's review for the issue is HERE.

Runners Up

Wonder Woman #35 (Cliff Chiang)

A great cover for the great final issue of a great run.  That's a whole bunch of greats.  Cliff Chiang's cover, like the issue itself, is probably best appreciated by those who've been reading his and Azzarello's run from the very beginning.  I'm hoping that's not a select group, however, because this was one of the best Wonder Woman stories of all-time.  It had mythology, great characters, an awesome villain and Bondage Minotaur.  Poor Bondage Minotaur, I'm gonna miss you buddy.  My review is HERE.

The New 52: Futures End #26 (Ryan Sook)

This cover is all about timing for me.  It just reminds me of both Fall and Halloween.  I'm not sure that was Ryan Sook's intent, but when I first saw it I wanted to put a sweater on and eat some Halloween candy.  Maybe a fun size Crunch bar or a Kit Kat, but no Twizzlers.  I hate Twizzlers.  It also never hurts to throw Batman on a cover...or a big clock or an elephant.  Eric's review is HERE.

Cover Song of the Week

Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" (Jeffrey Gaines)

I'm a huge fan of Say Anything, Peter Gabriel and In Your Eyes.  That being said, I love this version of the song.  Enjoy and see you next week.
