Bane, Bane, Bane.......... What the hell am I going to do with you?........ you know, besides read you of course.  Yeah, that's right, it's time to jump back into Bane: Conquest, where we previously saw our villain and his trio of goons compete against Dionysus to see who could take down a Russian Crime Family first, with Dionysus using his brains and Bane using his brawn....... Well, we didn't exactly get that and Dionysus was trying to get Bane killed the whole time, while the villain teamed up with Catwoman, who was also after information within the crime family stronghold.  Yeah, I don't know what's up with this series or if I still care about it, but I'm in this for the long haul........ Which I don't expect Dionysus to be after screwing Bane over previously.  Who knows though?  This is a weird ass Maxi-Series.  Let's jump into this and see where Bane's conquest takes him now.  Let's check it out.

Explain It!:

Our issue begins with us being introduced to the Naja-Naja of Kobra...... pretty much their prophesied leader, who is just a spoiled rich kid and is more interested in vacationing and partying than actually being the head of the snake like he's supposed to.  With that introduction, which we further continue with when Bane comes into the book and he finds out about what Kobra, we see that both Bane and Kobra are worried about one another.  Bane mostly because he plans on taking this organization down.......... which I'm not positive about why he plans on this.  Previously, we saw Bane take down a criminal organization because it was a bet between Dionysus and him.  Now, it seems like maybe Bane just got a taste for it and continues to make his way around the world, taking out organization after organization until he found out that all of them pay tribute to Kobra.

So obviously, the next step is to take out the snake and to do that, Dionysus has come up with a way to cripple them by kidnapping the Naja-Naja so that they'll know his exact time of this death and with that, determine who is born at that exact moment, thus creating the next Naja-Naja......... and leaving him in the hands of Bane.

In the end, Bane enacts Dionysus' plan, but like the Naja-Naja, who didn't take the threat of Bane seriously, Bane totally underestimated Kobra as well because when Bane actually kidnaps the young leader and tries to escape by boat, he's met by a submarine full of Kobra soldiers.

That's it for this issue of Bane: Conquest and while I don't exactly understand what led Bane to try and cripple all of the crime organizations in the world, which eventually led him to Kobra, I have to say that I actually found this issue pretty damn interesting and it actually got me to start caring about this title again and excited for what's to come......... and I don't even like Kobra.  The art in this issue is awesome as always and while this issue is just setting up everything, it's still exciting at times.  Hopefully, Bane: Conquest stays on this path for its duration because it's finally giving me something that I feel I can sink my imagination teeth into........... Still don't understand why we're after crime organizations from where we left last issue though.

Bits and Pieces:

While this series has seen its share of unimpressive issues, this chapter feels like it may start giving us something exciting.  Yeah, I don't understand what the motivations are for Bane to take up this undertaking, but I had a good time reading it, loved the art and am interested in seeing where it goes.

6.8/10
